Off the Blog:
The beginning of this week was less than exciting, HOWEVER, let me tell you a quick story….
It’s Wednesday Morning 12:00 am and I am sleeping on the couch (my husband snores, so instead of murder, I sleep on the couch) I hear a bang outside. So I get up and look out the front window, I don’t see anything. I hear another noise and go to the side window and look in the driveaway, again, I don’t see anything. So I go back to sit on the couch and as I grab my phone I hear the kitchen door open. I panic, who is walking into my house at Midnight, could my son be sleepwalking out the door? I slowly get up and the dog runs ahead of me. He starts angry barking, my heart stops, I walk into the kitchen and my husband is standing there, fully dressing with a cup of Dunkin Donuts. I am so confused, he looked confused…..wait isn’t he sleeping?
Husband: “I went to work!” “I heard the alarm go off, I got dressed and went to work!”
Me: “It’s 12:30?”
Husband: Tells the story, his words…..I didn’t realize it until I got to the dunkin donuts and the guy goes “Wow, you’re here early?” “What time is it?” The Guy said “It’s 12:00pm” “That’s weird your clock must not be working like the clock in my van” The Guy says “No, it’s really 12” *looks at his phone* “Oh, Shit!”
Husband: “I swear the alarm went off and I got up to go to work”
Me: “You never looked at the time?”
Me: “Do you remember turning off the alarm?”
Husband: “I thought I turned it off” “I remember turning it off”
So my husband, got up at 12pm midnight, got dressed, took the dog for a walk, got his stuff, got in his work van, went to Dunkin donuts, 5 hours before he was suppose to and just assumed every clock in the world was wrong because he remembers hearing the alarm. He came back into the house and went back to bed fully clothed. His alarm went off at 4:30, like normal and he took the dog out, again and left the house, this time skipping Dunkin Donuts because, well, he already had his coffee and he went to work. I laughed ALL DAY! Like it got funnier as the day went on just thinking how he NEVER even once questioned the time. How did he go through all that without realizing it wasn’t 5am. We can safely say he will never live this down.
Lord help me friends, I have a teenage in the house. Friday was my son’s 13th birthday! We celebrated by going out to dinner Friday night to Applebees, his choice and today we are having a family party at the local Diner. We are super blessed to have such a great kid and he has been so excited for his birthday. We got him a drawing tablet and a little desk, like I have, plus he gets some money in the Nintendo E-shop or where ever if he want it.
GUESS WHAT! On Saturday we found out THE KITTENS CAN COME HOME WITH US! We will be picking them up on Friday or Saturday and I will have a picture next week. We are so excited! I can’t wait to give them tons of love and cuddles. They have been through so much and I am so glad we can give them a forever home.
Blogging News and Updates:
So maybe you noticed the lack of post this week, well, I have been so busy with design work that I haven’t had a chance to write any posts. Berls has been busy also and hasn’t written any blog posts. We can officially say, oops, we didn’t mean for that to happen but it is what it is. Next weekend I plan to spend almost the entire weekend blogging as much as possible since I have a long weekend and we have NO PLANS! So this week might be a little slow again but it’s still early in the year to catch up! 🙂
(Read, Currently Reading & Next)
Bookish News:
I have about 7 outstanding reviews that need to be written, I can assure you they will be bullet point reviews since those are the easiest to write when I read the books so long ago. I am still slowly reading but loving my current read. I am also looking forward to My TBR List book, I have heard such great things about it and the entire series. I can’t wait to start reading it. Plus it will count towards COYER since we are officially on the 3rd phase! I am hoping as the weather gets a little warmer, I will have more time to read.
What I grabbed
My family let me go to Barnes and Nobles…..

That is a funny story! Congrats on the kitties! 🙂
That’s hilarious! I’ve gotten up at the wrong time before but never quite that early! Yay for kittens! How fun that you’re going to have 2. Can’t wait to see pictures!
Oh my god 😀 I laughed out loud at your husband’s story! Oh my gosh it’s so good.. Poor guy! Can’t believe he dutifully got up like that… 4.30 is bad enough, but getting up at 12PM and going out.. Oh my gosh 😀 story of the year…
Omigosh! I’m giggle-snorting over your Hubs’ story. I kinda think the funniest part is him thinking all the clocks were wrong! LOL I can’t wait to see pics of your kittens. I love kittens. 🙂 And happy birthday to Ryan. Having teenagers definitely changes things, Michelle. 😉
Miss you, my friend!! {{{hugs}}}
I love the story and couldn’t but chuckle. I’m also glad the kitties get to come home with you. Fallen Empire has the best cover ever! I gotta read it. Happy belated birthday to your son!
That is hilarious about your husband, sure he doesn’t think so! Happy birthday to your son! Hope you all have a great week.
I don’t know how he made it all the way to the DD without checking the time. Doesn’t his van have a clock? I check my phone so many times before I leave the house (or rather, on the way out of the house, usually). I don’t think I’ve ever done that before. What a story! I would have definitely been scared with someone coming in at midnight. Oh, I’m so glad you’re getting the kitties! I can’t wait to see them.
LOL I’ve done that. Got up and went to work and it was the weekend. We are closed on the weekend! At least no one saw me. LOL
I feel for your husband. I got up, got showered and started blow drying my hair when I realized it was only 2 am once. Damn, but at least he got DD coffee..yum!
He also got a donut. Lol. The next day the guy at Dunkin Donuts asked What happened the other day! lol
Can’t wait to see the kitties!!! And I have done something similar to your husband. Once in high school I swore my alarm went off and got up, showered, got dressed, went downstairs to grab breakfast an saw it was 3 am, not 6 am. I laid back down fully clothed. My mom saw me in bed, fully dressed and was so confused.
We are so excited about them!
I have heard a lot of people saying they have done that but no one so far has gotten as far as my husband lol. I still can’t believe he never looked at the time.
Your poor husband. I would have laughed too and laughed some more. I have done this but haven’t gone outside of the house but dressed and all. Great books. I haven’t been to my B&N in a while might be time to go…=)
Mary
I have gotten up and started getting my clothes only to realize it was way too early. It still cracks me up.
I was surprised they let me go to B&N so when they all said say I inwardly screamed, plus I was un-chaperoned so I got 3 books. lol
That is an awesome story! Oh man I would be so embarrassed, but you know it’s funny enough that maybe it’s worth it ?!?? 🙂 And congrats on the kittens! Your life I think is about to get way more interesting! Ha ha
Lost cities look fun…
Totally worth it, he tried to come in really quiet so he didn’t wake me because he knew he would NEVER live it down. I’m a light sleeper anyway so I would have woken up.
It is about to get interesting but I seem to do a lot better with chaos in this house! lol
That’s a funny story! Your husband must have been really chagrined. I’ve gotten up early without realizing it a time or two, but never by that much!
Enjoy your new books, and happy birthday to R!
He said he wasn’t , he’s just mad at himself for not checking the time lol. Ive gotten up and thought it was later but never went through all the motions and actually left the house lol.
Oh, and I forgot to say — congratulations on the new kittens!
Thank you! We are so excited to get them. I can’t wait to show them off on the blog, they had a rough start but I am glad we are their happy ending.
Funny story about your husband, almost like he was sleepwalking or something! Hey, at least he got the Dunkins 🙂
Hurray for new kittens. Hope your family has a blast getting them used to their new surroundings and giving them lots of hugs and love– pics please!
I can’t believe he got that far, I haven’t stopped laughing. He went back to the Dunkin Donuts on Thursday the guy said “What happened the other night?” I laughed so hard.
We are so excited to get them. I haven’t had a kitten in the house for 15 years so it will be fun again to see them fun around. Its going to be like having toddlers. 🙂
That’s kinda funny he stood up that early and never even realized it until the donut guy said something. Wouldn’t it be way darker at that time as when he normally get up? And now I am wondering why his alarm was at the wrong time?
I am so excited to hear you’re getting the kittens you wanted! I can’t wait to see pictures of them!
Your new books look great! i hope they’re good ones. And I am glad to hear you’re enjoying your current read. Have a great week!
He usually gets up at 4:30am and leaves at 5:00am so it’s still dark at that time. So he probably wouldn’t have noticed.
His alarm never went off because it was set at the correct time, he must have dreamed that it did. When he went back to sleep the alarm went off normal time at 4:30. Lol
We are also excited, it’s a lot earlier than we intended to get new kittens but it just worked out and we couldn’t say no.
