News at Home: Happy 2020!
I cannot believe it’s 2020 y’all! We had a good end to 2019 and start to 2020. This week felt weird, with the holiday smack dab in the middle, though.
I worked Monday and Tuesday – they were just regular days, nothing eventful. Which was nice. Exactly why I wanted this job! Stress free π Tuesday night I was in bed by 9:30 I think. I told Kiko to go ahead and wake me up like 5 minutes before midnight, because we’ve kicked off the new year together for 13 years, didn’t want to miss year 14! Dante just so happened to be awake for his dream feed, too. So we rang in the new year together and then we all went to bed. Me first LOL!
Wednesday we both had off, so it was a day at home with Dante. A couple friends came over around lunch time, to meet Dante for the first time. We hung out and had a really nice time for a couple hours and then it was time to get ready for getting back to our routine.
Thursday and Friday were also pretty uneventful. Daycare thought Dante might be getting an ear infection, so I took him to the doctor Saturday morning, but he was fine. Yay! He’s still got some congestion from when he was sick with the Rhinovirus, but that’s it. Such a relief. And side note… he’s now 15 pounds! He’s officially double his birth weight.
This weekend has been equally uneventful – did laundry and ran a few errands Saturday after taking Dante to the doctor. Today I plan to get groceries, clean, and prep for the week. I really hope next week is just as uneventful π
Blog News
I didn’t get a lot of blogging done this week still. Since the office has been slow (everyone is out), I used my lunch to take care of some errands this week. But I think I’ll get back to my lunch break blogging this week. I hope.
I’m having a blast buddy reading with COYER! I’ve finished 3 buddy reads and hope to finish another one today. And then I start my next buddy read today with Anne. And we also start the Honoring Lost Friends Readathon today, and I will be reading a book (my buddy read) for Tiffany and listening to one for Grace. Every time I think about it, I get a little teary. I’m really glad we decided to do this and it’s the only read-a-thon I’m determined to do.
I also need to remember to get in a book for my #2020HW. My goal was to read Patricia Briggs every month, which works perfectly with the Mercy Thompson Readalong that Anne is hosting. I read Moon Called last month and will read the next one next month.

Coming Next Week From Me
I will have my FitReaders update on Friday and besides that… I don’t know. Depends on what blogging I get done today.
Oh my, was New Years just last week? It feels like it was forever ago. Of course, I’m a week behind checking blog posts. *shrugs* Glad you and a lovely and quiet NYE with your guys. Here’s to a fabulous 2020. xo
I fell super behind and realized I just have to pick up at the present and try to keep up moving forward. 2020 has already taken route and started flying by for me too! π
Sounds like your NYE was as uneventful as mine… except I didn’t bother waking up at midnight. LOL
I am so ready to put the holiday craziness/stress behind me and get back into my regular routines.
Glad the start of 2020 was uneventful that is always good! Enjoy all your buddy reading! π
Glad you had a stress free week! And also glad Dante didn’t have an ear infection. Neither of my babies ever got them but I had friends whose kids were either getting one, dealing with one or getting over one constantly and it sounded awful. Hope this coming week is nice and ordinary!
It’s a great week! I’m so happy to have you with me on buddy reads and the Mercy reads. I did start the buddy read last night, after midnight and read the first 3 chapters, 13% I’ll continue tonight but I already have some thoughts when you are ready. I have to go back and see how often we planned to check in.
Have a wonderful week! We will be in touch reading for sure!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post Β Β
Quiet weeks are a blessing for sure. I love when I can get stuff done with no hassle or illness and sleep when I need it.
Neat that you had your friends over and Dante is doing good.
You’re doing great on the buddy reads front. I am doing one now (thanks for suggesting) and have one later with Anne.
Have a great week, Berls!
Happy New Year, Berls!
Glad to hear you had a good week and that Dante has doubled his birth weight! That’s a nice milestone.
A stress free job… Wow. I wonder what that’d be like! I’m back to work tomorrow and not looking forward to it one little bit. π Although, I’m desperate to get back into our normal routine so…
Glad you week was uneventful! I now need to find a stress free job. I am just so stressed out to find a stress free job lol.
Have a great week, my friend! Give that baby a hug for me! Happy Reading! xx
I am so glad your new job is working out for you. I had to work part of last week too. It really was weird having the holidays in the middle of the week. This week school is back in session and so is dance, so it’ll be back to normal. Part of me is glad for the routine and the other part is sad.
I hope you have a great week!
