Sunday
Today was SO MUCH BETTER. Dante still wasn’t eating much, but his ear infection doesn’t seem to be hurting him anymore (or at least he wasn’t crying all day) and we still haven’t had fever since Friday. Which meant I was able to get out of the house to pick up some groceries and listen to my audiobook. I also gave Dante a much needed trim/hair cut. I managed to do a little bit of blog visiting and that’s about it besides relaxing, because last week was exhausting. I will be going to work tomorrow – I think we’re going to try and take Friday off to go to the fair since we had to cancel our plans last week.
Monday – Saturday
I am just in a funk. I’m tired and I’m frustrated. I’m not doing well in pretty much ANY area. I haven’t been doing my miracle mornings, I haven’t been exercising, I’ve been eating like SHIT and gaining weight… I just need a reset. Can I undo the past year and call a do over?
Dante also had a rough week. He still has his ear infection and it sometimes bothers him. We’re almost done with the antibiotics, so I hope he feels 100% in the next couple days. They also switched him to the 2 year old class this week and I feel like we’ve back tracked all the way to when we started daycare. He cries and clings to me every morning. On Tuesday (I think…) he got into an ant pile at school and while they handled it really well, he has little bites all over his legs that look gross. They thankfully don’t seem to be bothering him at all. On the plus, he started waving finally this week! It’s a really awkward wave, but it’s a wave. After like 2 years of waving at him, he’s finally waving back. A HUGE milestone.
On Friday I had an incredible day at the State Fair with my brother and his partner. We ate and drank and rode rides from like 11 am to 5 pm. I really needed the day and I hope I can start turning my mood back around. Saturday we took Dante to the park and walked for like 1 hour and then came home and just vegged out on the couch watching Parenthood (it’s our second time watching it all the way through).

Challenge update
This week I finished:
I’m participating in 4 reading challenges this year. Here’s how I’m doing:

Library Love hosted by Books of My Heart & Angel’s Guilty Pleasures: 11 books
New Release hosted by (un)Conventional Bookworms: 11 books
COYER (Fall) hosted by Because Reading: 5 books
Glad you got to enjoy the fair. Hope Dante feels completely better very soon!
I hope you and Dante feel better soon! I can relate to wanting a do-over. My last few weeks of work were so stressful that I neglected everything else. It’s shocking how quickly things fall apart when I lose motivation.
Glad the week ended on a high for you. I’m also struggling right now. And for me, the dark and cold mornings make it worse. I hope that the fun helps lift your spirits and you have a good week ahead.
Aww sorry Dante had a rough week. Poor guy with the ants! Hope his ear infection is cleared up soon. And hope you are feeling more in sorts soon also!
The state fair sounds awesome though! I always love going to fairs like that… and like Bookwyrm said- take good care of yourself!!
I can’t remember the last time I went to the state fair! I think Robin was in elementary school. What fun! I hope Dante enjoyed it too.
I hear you on the wish for a do-over. I’m not exercising regularly or watching what I eat, either, and it shows. And I haven’t done a lot of the household projects I wanted to do. But we can both turn it around. Just… love yourself, OK? Don’t beat yourself up about it. You’ve had a challenging year. Being the mom of a young child is a lot to handle all on its own. Add in a pandemic, and working full time? Your plate is MORE than full. And the pandemic has taken a lot more toll on everyone’s spirits than most of us are willing to admit. So be kind and loving to yourself. Accept that you’ve been doing the best you can in challenging circumstances. Then pick one thing to do differently. It doesn’t have to be big, and it doesn’t mean jumping back in with both feet; just make a little change. When that one is going well , add a little something more. And keep encouraging yourself with love.
Aww Poor kid with the ear infection. Those are never fun to deal with.
I’m sorry for the frustrating this week. I get feeling that way sometimes also. You had some bright spots so you need to hang onto those. I’m glad you got to go to the fair and enjoy that time.
What a warm moment to have him wave back and glad the ant bites aren’t too much of a both. Yay that you got to let your hair down at the fair after the frustration of the week. Way to go getting through the two books. I loved Shield of Winter so much.
Have a good week, Berls!
So glad your week ended well and that Dante is doing better. I hope you have a better week coming up.
I haven’t been to our state fair in so long. I should try to go again one of these years. Hopefully everyone will be feeling better this week! I’ve been so tired lately too, so I get that. Have a good week!
