Week in READview:

On & Off the Blog:

I’ve been a bit MIA but it’s been a good thing…

So as most of you know I was let go of my job in January with the thought that I would go back when they got busy, I was told no hard feelings. Problem was, I had very hard feelings, I was the only one let go. Like I was the least valued person, so he let me go. I was very bitter and was weighing the options of what I wanted to do, go back or move on. Well I came to the crossroad last week, it was mentally exhausting as my ex-boss called to tell me he wanted to see where I was at since they are busy. I need a day to really think it over. For some reason, I had this feeling like it was just to get the work out and not going to be totally busy, so I didn’t feel like it was guaranteed back to normal work. I had to make a choice…I choose to take the path less traveled and decided to move on. I am scared and excited. While I don’t know what the future has in store for me, at the moment I can finally find my confidence (which I lost working there) and nothing is holding me back from doing amazing things. I decided to spend at least the next few months upgrading my skills and working on growing Limabean Designs. So, by September, I will start looking for something, either part time or full time depending on where I am at and what I can find. For me unemployment and the extra money they give, pretty much is paying the salary I was getting (which I wont say but was pathetic for a graphic designer) but for now it keeps the lights on and food on the table. I am hoping I can grow Limabean Designs, since it is what I would love to do, but I don’t mind doing both my own business and something part time. I am determined to prove I made the right decision for myself and my family. Plus I am sure ANY PLACE else will pay me an actual living salary. *fingers crossed*

Now on to better stuff 🙂

This week we celebrated my husbands birthday on the 25th and mine on the 28th. We had cake and yummy food, we usually spend it at the shore house but our pet sitter got a real job (damn it) and now have no one to look after the kittens, plus COVID so we stayed home. We did go out to dinner which I was a nervous wreck about but I felt we could all use the feeling of being out. My daughter gets her 2nd shot in 2 weeks and then after her two weeks we can maybe start doing things more outside of the house but still being very careful. We are thinking if we can’t find anyone to watch the kittens, maybe day trips different places on the weekends.

It was a rainy weekend and the weather went from 90 to 50. So a bit chilly. Next week it will be in the 70’s so about average for this time of year. I am getting weather whiplash.

Limabean Designs has been keeping me busy (see below if you need any designs) so blogging has taken a bit of a back seat but I should be able to adjust my schedule to fit it in by June.  I am really excited to be busy plus I have been designing stuff that even has me impressed with my skills. lol

Read & Currently Reading:

Black Butler is pretty good, hoping to watch the Anime at some point but I might read it for now. The Mary Shelley Club is okay, I am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Might Read Next:

I am debating what to read next but I am in a spooky mood.

What I grabbed:

What I watched:

We are almost done with My Hero Academia, the last season is still releasing new episodes so we are going to put it on hold until they all come out. Not sure what we plan to watch next.

I am currently watching Black Clover (Anime) it’s for freaking good, I wish I would have saved it to watch with my daughter but I am so hooked now I can’t stop. Anime is so unique in the way it tells a story and the meaning behind some are just so heartwarming. Some are still a bit weird but over all it has been my favorite things to watch recently. I am glad I decided to give it a go again, I am starting to remember why I loved it so much as a younger me.

  3. I hope everything goes well for you finding new options for your career. We are also still being very careful about things even tho we are fully vaccinated. Plus I just like it at home. We had 90s this week and now it’s 65, but 80s this week, still kind of rainy but we need rain

  5. The new career change does sound a bit scary, but I’m glad you’re doing something that will make you happier in the long run. I’m trying to find a new job myself since the one I worked so hard to find ended up not being the right one. I hope you find something that will be a better fit for you soon!

Nice new reads! Those are some new to me ones but House of Hollows is in my TBR pile already! That one sounded creepy and fantastic! Hope you enjoy all of the new reads!
