On & Off the Blog:
And just like that the year is almost over and I have been MIA for at least 9 months. Quick recap?
- Lost my job in 2021
- Starting working at Barnes & Noble in November 2021, love the place, pay was shit.
- Super depressed, like I didn’t want to get out of bed depressed.
- Quit on June 9th 2022.
- Got a strange call from a guy asking if I wanted a print job at a very busy print company
- Realized I didn’t want something new, I wanted what I know best.
- Been working at the very busy print shop for 5 months and I LOVE IT but we are very busy
- The end…well not really but for now.
Only perk about Barnes & Noble was the 40% off and all the books I got. I really miss the 40% but I still love getting books! 🙂
The printshop I work out is great, I feel like it is exactly what I wanted and I love the manager, he is just amazing and such a great guy to work with. We are really busy and I have been working long hours and on the weekends but we just hired someone so I am hoping the person will work out so things will slow down or at least balance out so my weeks aren’t super crazy. While I do love it, I still have a bit of anxiety that I will be suddenly let go. He has told me more than once he will never let me leave but I am still quickly worried. It is, however, nice to finally be valued and my talents appreciated.
Limabean Designs has been super busy and I love it, I am a bit behind because of how busy work was but I am hoping that in the next two weeks I will be in a better place to start advertising again and finish up what I have been working on.
Reading took a hit this year, while I wanted to read I just had no focus being so depressed so I spent a lot of time playing the Sims and now Disney Dreamlight Valley. It has helped a lot but I do miss reading so I feel like I should be able to get back into it again soon. Do you know how many books I read this year? 10…TEN! that is it. It really was a rough year!
I also plan to be back to blogging soon, for I while I felt like not many people were doing actual blogs with Youtube and Tiktok being so popular now but I am not a person that likes camera stuff so I am going to get back to doing what I enjoyed and that is blogging. I am hoping to get back to things in Jan since I do miss it so much and of course all my blogging friends!
For now I might do a few Sunday Posts and maybe a few posts closer to the end of the year.
Sign up for COYER is live on Monday so make sure to check that out. It is going to be a crazy COYER year as we celebrate 10 years of COYER.

So glad to see you back in your blogging space! I know this past year has been rough. Here’s to hoping it’s getting better and better!
What a crazy couple of years it has been for you though I’m glad you’ve finally found your place. I hope you get a little more confident but I can definitely understand why you question your job security. I’m OBSESSED with Dreamlight Valley! I just had to force myself to put the down the Switch a little while ago because I have to get something done and making a birthday cake for Elsa doesn’t count. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
I have missed you. I am glad the new job is going well even if you are extremely busy. My husband has been at his current job six years and he still worries he’s going to be let go at any moment. If an unexpected meeting with his supervisor is called, he goes into total panic. All because of how he was treated at his old job. Hopefully you won’t feel that way for as long as he has. You’ve had such a rough year and you deserve much joy in your life. My blogging life has suffered quite a bit this year as well. I will be glad to see this year end while at the same time worry what will come next. Yay for your personal business doing so well! That’s great news. You work so hard. I hope you have a good holiday season. Take care of yourself.
It’s awesome to see you here and know that you like your new job. I hope the new person does work out and look forward to the year ahead with more reading and blogging.

Welcome back! I love when random things happen, like that job to work at the print shop!
I’m happy you are enjoying your new job. Things have been chaotic for myself too so I’ve been mostly MIA but hope to get back into the groove int he new year.

I worked at B&N for over 15 years and got laid off at the start of the pandemic in 2020. 🙁 I now have a job that I don’t need that 2nd job, but I sure do miss the 40% off discount! Glad you are enjoying your new job. I’m glad you’ve been doing the awesome work you do with Limabean Designs because I LOVE all my new banners! Put up my new Christmas one yesterday! Hope you have a good week!
Hey Michelle! I hope you are well and had an awesome Thanksgiving! What a year you’ve had. I always thought B&N would be fun too- as a bookfan- but I’ve heard the pay is not great. Isn’t it funny sometimes how things just happen? Like with that phone call from the print company. And I’m glad to hear Limabean is doing well. I’ve seen bloggers around saying their graphics or banner or whatever were from Limabean and I always smile when I see that. 🙂
I hear you on blogging- you wonder sometimes if it’s still worth it but I like it and don’t want to do the Tiktok thing (actually I’m kinda tempted but… too much work?)
have a great week Michelle!!!
Even though things are busy I am so glad that you did find that job that you are enjoying! Hope the new hire gives you a bit of breathing room! Hope you have a great holiday season!
Have a great week and happy reading,
Stormi
I am hoping she works out, at least enough to help me out.
