Week in READview:

Real life & Blogging:

Happy June! I swear I am still trying to get through March! This year needs to slow down!

The blog was very quiet this week as Berls and I have been rather busy. School for me is winding down and a lot of end of year stuff is going on so I haven’t had a lot of time. I am hoping I can get a few things finished this weekend but something always seems to come up and my time gets limited. I am hoping to get back to my original schedule once the kids are out of school but for now, I will blog when I can.

I decided this week that during the summer when I go to the shore I am going to skip The Sunday Post since that is usually the day I am packing up, driving home and I wont have time to comment on those that stop by. So If you notice I don’t have a lot of Sunday Posts in the summer you will know why. I will only be doing them when I know I can sit and comment back and visit those that come to visit me. Since I am still having a hard time visiting during the week, I think this is only fair

My birthday was Tuesday and after work we ordered Chinese food and just relaxed. I didn’t want to do anything special just have a normal day and it was perfect. So far 45 isn’t too bad 🙂

If you have a moment please stop by and help me pick which book I will read this month on My TBR List post. I would greatly appreciate it! <3

What I am watching:

I am still watching Rizzoli and Isles. I am currently almost finished with Season 6 and the final season is next. I don’t believe I ever watched the last season so I am looking forward to seeing how they ended it.

Challenges & Readathons:

COYER started on Saturday, you still have plenty of time to join us if you are interested. This one is going to be so much fun! You can find all the details from the link above or on the side bar!

Books

Reading:

Can you read a series in a month Challenge is over and I was able to finish the series, however, I got thrown a curve ball when on Wednesday the author surprised me with another book in the series. I wasn’t able to finish that one. Since I can’t win the prize anyway in my head I finished the challenge and can’t wait to do it again in November. I am planning to download the new book and read it while I read my current physical book.

The Hot Dog Girl is so far really cute and part of my Reading Assignment for the Summer Semester.

I got some gift cards for my birthday so I binged a little on books and also got a surprise in the mail that actually had me hyperventilating because I couldn’t believe I was sent the book.

Serafina is one of my favorite series, I never had the first book so I picked that up this week in paperback but I was SHOCKED to have been sent the next book in the series. I wasn’t expecting it and I can’t wait to get into that story again. Originally the 3rd book was the final but I guess Seraphina has more stories to tell.

The Candle and the Flame was one of my most anticipated books this year and I have wanted Senlin Ascends for a while now so I decided to grab them. The Kingdom jumped on my radar this week from my goodreads news feed. I was so fascinated by the synopsis I had to grab it. I just love how it sounds and I think I will be reading it next.

  1. Sorry to hear it’s been a busy time for you both. I am sorry to hear you’ll be skipping the Sunday Post a few times in the summer, but that makes sense and it always takes some time to do the posts and reply to comments.

I hope you had a great birthday. That sounds nice how you got takeout and had a relaxing evening.

You got a nice haul of books this week. I love that cover for The Candle and the Flame, I might pick it up eventually as it sounds good too. And that’s awesome you got the next book in a series you love.

    Have a great week!

  2. Hooray for gifts cards!

The Kingdom looks really intriguing. It keeps popping up in my ads, I can’t wait to hear what others think! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
    Have a great week!

  3. I am glad you had a good birthday! I can’t believe how fast the year is going by and I would like it to slow down! You got some cool books and I will have to see about putting the Serafina books on my library list to see what I think. 🙂

Have a great week! Miss you!!

  5. I am looking forward to this month, but at the same time am not quite ready for it. I think I am going to slow down a bit on the blogging front this summer to try and catch my breath. Not that I have been doing all that well anyway. We’ll see. I feel like I haven’t really been reading. The other day my anxiety level was so high, my husband ordered me to go read. He knows me too well. LOL

Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a nice one–and here’s a great year!

I love the theme for COYER this summer. It sounds like so much fun! I hope you enjoy your reading this week, Michelle! Have a wonderful week.

  6. HappyBelated Birthday! I love getting GC’s!! I also love Chinese food and usually pick that or a cookout for my birthday.

  7. I’m glad you had a nice birthday and got a gift you are sure to enjoy. I like the Read A Series in a Month challenge as it causes me to focus and finish up books I’ve wanted to read for awhile. COYER is always fun once I get it all figured out. I’m not quite there yet. Have a great week and enjoy those new books!

  8. What a great book haul! The covers look wonderful; I hope the books will be as good inside. I enjoyed Serafina and the Black Cloak, and really need to remember to read the rest of the series. How cool that they sent you the new one!

Your idea to skip the Sunday Post when you don’t have time to comment or visit is a good one. I’ll be skipping it myself at least occasionally this summer — our planned vacation is in a place without internet.

Being 45 didn’t feel any different to me, either. 50 was more of a big deal! But I’ve had years to get used to now LOL.

    • I was so excited that I got it. I can’t wait to get back to her. I highly recommend finishing the series. It was so good and I love Seraphina!
I enjoy visiting on Sundays and visiting blogs so since I can’t I figured it’s only fair.
LOL I was just talking with a friend about how old I feel in my head and honestly my brain hasn’t caught up to my age yet. I am not sure if it ever does. I still feel somewhat the same besides the anxiety.

    • My parents have a house and it’s nice but 8 people in one house tends to get a little overwhelming. It’s nice down there and lots of places to go but expensive so we might not go as often.
We have no big vacations planned at the moment since I am trying to save money to visit my co blogger after she has her baby. So it’s going to be a long rest of the year!
