WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

First I want to Thank all of you that have come to visit me over the last 2 weeks and I want to apologize for not coming to visit you and for some what disappearing yet again. It’s been a difficult two weeks and I am pretty sure it will be a difficult in the weeks to come. Last week I didn’t have a Sunday Post because the 24 hour read-a-thon made my eyeballs hurt so bad I didn’t want to read or look at anything. πŸ™‚ That however is not the reason I was MIA. We have been having some difficulties with my son again and if you read my post about a month ago when I took a break you know that he suffers from a Mood Disorder similar to Bi-Polar. Last Thursday he was sent to the Hospital because he threatened to kill himself and others so he need to be cleared to return to school and home. This time I was unable to pick him up and take him myself (we did this before and I took him) the police had to be called and Ambulance had to come and get him. He was released and sent home but I kept him home Friday with me just to give him a day to relax. This week has also been a VERY rough week for him. 3 days of really bad days at school and home with my husband having to go get him Friday because they didn’t feel safe putting him on his bus. We have changed his meds and have our fingers crossed that they will help since he was on a lower dose before and it seemed to help but not for long.I have been a bit overwhelmed and confused, it’s a lot to take in for 2 weeks but I think we might be at a good point, I hope. So please forgive me for disappearing or not commenting, I don’t do it because I don’t like visiting back, I honestly do, just right now things are a bit crazy…thanks for letting me vent πŸ™‚

I did have a great reading week, with the Read-a-thon and just in general I have been reading a lot but I also have a few DNF books that I am not happy with so I am thinking of putting a few of my YA and MG books aside to read something a little different, however pretty much everything I have is YA and MG so that might be hard. lol So I will squeeze some steamy books in between to keep thing fresh. πŸ˜‰ I was a VERY bad girl the last two weeks with getting books but I totally think I deserve them lol

  2. I’m sorry to hear about your son and hope the new medication helps. My daughter is dealing with depression (caused by being bullied at school) so I can relate to what you are going. We have good days and bad days. But for both of us I hope our kids have more good days in the future!!

I hope you have a good week and enjoy your new books!

    • Sorry you are having a hard time with your daughter, bulling is very hard thing to deal with. I hope your daughter realizes she is an amazing person and no matter what that bully thinks shes is awesome πŸ™‚ *hugs*

  3. I\’m amazed you had time for all that with what you’ve been going through. Both you and your husband need to be sure to take time for yourselves individually and as a couple, even if it\’s just 15 minutes. Being a caregiver can wear you out.
I hope you’ll visit and check out my giveaway, since you’re looking for something different to read.

    • Thank you Elizabeth, we try to get away but sometimes its hard since I don’t have anyone that can handle him when he has an episode, My mom can help but she’s not strong enough to hold him is he needs it.

  4. Hugs Michelle! I know how rough things have been but I think this last trip to the hospital may have been really beneficial, getting y’all in contact with that other doctor and starting some adjustments to his meds that you’ve been questioning all along. Mom always knows best huh?!? Look at all those NetGalley and Edelweiss books! I thought I got too many!!! Enjoy you totally deserve them πŸ˜‰

    • We are going to stick with the nurse for now since she is giving him the meds and if I go to the other doctor she will take him off and I can’t have him at school with no meds, If what we are going to do works, I wont need a second opinion but if it doesn’t at least they can ween him off the meds in the summer when he is home.

I was a VERY BAD girl lol. I just couldn’t help it πŸ™‚

  5. I’m so sorry things have been so difficult for your son, and for the rest of you as well! I really hope the doctors will find the right medication for him, he must be so tired of feeling up and down all the time. *hugs*

DNFs are par for the course, I think, the more I read, the more difficult I become, too. I want to be mesmerized by the story I’m reading, and I want it to happen straight from the beginning.

I’m sending tons of positive energy to your family, Michelle. Hang in there!

    • I always want to enjoy the books I request but it happens and it’s never fun to realize the book is a DNF after only reading a few pages, I just need that connection.

Thank you Lexxie, It is hard on him because he usually doesn’t mean it and once he comes down from the episode you can tell he feels bad. I have a lot of work to do with him but we will get through it πŸ™‚ oxox

  6. I am so sorry to hear this has been a hard two weeks for you, I hope the new meds help. This must be so hard for you and your son to go through. *hugs*.
You got a lot of books this week, but I agree you totally deserve them. I hope there are some good ones! And hopefully less DNF’s, but sometiems those are necessary as well.

Vito looks adorable! Although birds can be nisy indeed, whcih is oen reason i like them less as pets, they are fun though.

    • Thank you, Lola, I hate not visiting people but I have to watch him very closely to make sure he doesn’t start a episode without me. I usually have to stand close by to watch. It’s hard to watch, I watched one this morning.

I might be a little more selective for a couple weeks since I hate to DNF books

Vito is a good boy but he talks and sings a lot and for some reason when he is here visiting he always yells at my husband, he might get that from me πŸ˜‰
