Who doesn’t love to find out more about the person behind the blog. I thought I would give you a few fun fact once in a while. It might be a theme post or just a list of random things about me. I hope you enjoy all these little fun facts about me.

Since it’s the Summer I thought I would tell you a few fun facts about my summers.
- I hate the summer, I am not a fan of the heat and I prefer cooler weather. My house needs to be freezing or I am one unhappy girl.
- I do however love to swim (weird I know) but it must be in a pool. We have a town pool at my parents summer house that we love to go to the water is freezing but it’s very refreshing when its hot.
- I don’t like the beach, NOT AT ALL! I hate the sand and how it sticks to everything. I also hate that it gets into places it should never be in.
- I have been going to the Jersey Shore every weekend since I was little. My grandparents had a house when I was young and we would stay there all the time and then my parents got a house.
- My dad built our summer house and it’s bigger than our regular house. It’s gorgeous and I love going there. It’s so quiet and right on the water, plus my kids enjoy going because it’s on a dead end and it’s like a little spot to ride bikes and play.
- Every summer we use to take a trip to the Bronx Zoo but it’s so hot and the Bronx Zoo is build on what I can only imagine is a mountain because the amount of walking you have to do, up hill, you are luck if you don’t die.
- I am a huge fan of water slides, I panic a bit in the enclosed ones but I do love them. I have corrupted my children into loving them as well.
- My husband hates swimming but this isn’t really about him now is it and he’s a doofus for not liking it anyway.
- I taught my kids how to swim, I am pretty sure my mom taught me by throwing me in a pool and hoping for the best, so I pretty much did the same thing and they are now swimmers…well sort of, it looks like they are drowning but they are not.
- When I was little we had a small pool in our backyard. One day we thought it would be a good idea to make a whirlpool, the pool collapsed, sending me down the yard to Misses Burgermeanies House thank goodness for the gate….it was a fun ride.
Summers have always been fun for me as a kid and even as an adult I try to do a lot more stuff with the kids outside of the house. The heat is a problem but no one wants to relocate to Alaska so I just have to deal with it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the Summer
Have a great day!
What a fun post! I love summer and hot temperatures until about mid summer when it just gets to be too much! It sounds like you definitely know how to enjoy a summer! I’m also glad I’m not the only person not completely in love with the beach.
Thank you π
Mid summer is awful, like now until the end of September. The beach bores me, I can’t just lay there. I like a pool much better, it more refreshing to me. Plus the ocean has sharks and other really frightening creatures.
In my arms, fellow summer hater ! I felt weird and estranged before I read you, but I can’t stand the heat either. And I don’t like beaches in summer because there’s just too many people around, I hate crowds too. I’m happy your children survived your treatment, lol, looks like it worked for them. Those were really fun facts, thanks for sharing, Michelle π
*HUGS* I am a real Fall/Winter lover, I love when it’s cold outside and it gets dark early. It’s just so cozy and I tend to get a lot more done in the winter. Summer is ok for like going on vacation but after that I prefer the cold weather. I have my fingers crossed this year for snow π
*shakes head* Michelle! Summer is nice!! Not when it’s too hot, with that I completely agree, but when we can be outside in just a shorts and t-shirt, barefoot, sipping an ice-cold beer to cool down a little bit, I’m in heaven! That being said, I’m actually an equal opportunities person when it comes to seasons, I love all four π Even in spring when my allergies are killing me. Just seeing nature come back to life in every way is always spectacular!
Thanks for sharing some personal thoughts about yourself π
I can’t do it, You are like my kids and husband. My sister loves the summer also. I am just the black sheep, I like the opposite of everyone else π
Spring is awful, my allergies are so bad and my sinuses need to be looked at since they are killer in the spring. I think I like summer for like a month and then I am done.
I don’t hate summer, but I prefer spring and fall..I HATE winter. π Your pull story there at the end about the whirlpool..something like that happened when I was younger..we were making a whirlpool and the pool collapsed but the water grabbed a hold of my little cousin and took him for a ride (he was like 3 or somewhere around that age..lol) as soon as he got a chance he took off running with the water chasing him..it was so funny. π
I don’t mind winter, I like when it’s cold outside and it gets dark early. Something about it just makes it all cozy.
Whirlpools are fun but my mom was so mad π
I hate summer too! Seriously I am the opposite of a bear—I will go outside all day every day Fall/Winter but summer BLARGH
YAY! I can’t wait for the Fall its so crispy and just refreshing. The winter is so pretty! I am so excited the summer is almost over.
Great post, Michelle. It IS nice to learn more about our blogging friends. π I have to say I think it’s hilarious that you grew up going ‘down the shore’ but you hate beaches! I understand what you’re saying but I love the beach. I grew up going down to the Texas Gulf coast and I miss beaches. I *did* get to visit one this summer though. π I, too, love water slides…and pools…and so do my kids! And I can’t take the heat either – so it’s a good thing I live in the mountains where it’s never too hot. I don’t even have A/C. So maybe you need a summer house in the mountains somewhere that’s a quick drive down to a pool for playing?!?
I think when I was little I liked it but as I got older it just is way to sandy for me π
I would love to live in the mountains but I would have to live by myself since the kids and my husband love the heat. ;P
This is funny! I have a love/ hate thing with going to the beach- I love being by the water but I get bored just frying in the sun after a while. And of course the car is full of sand by the end of the day LOL.
Your summer house sounds nice. And yes to water slides. π
That last one- too funny! Sounds like a fun childhood memory… π
Water slides are so much fun, I have always loved them as a kid but now they do make me a little dizzy when they go really fast π
Miss Burgermeanies was a very nice lady so if I did land in her back yard I don’t think she would have minded lol
