Break, Books and Catching Pokemon ~ WIR & TSP

Posted July 10, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 12 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog, Books & Real Life:

I am back after my break, It was totally unplanned and nothing serious was going on, I just needed to step away for a bit and gather my thoughts. Plus the week before was boring and I didn’t really have anything interesting going on plus I was away so it was a perfect time to take a short break. I have been working behind the scenes to get some stuff finished and I did accomplish a bunch of stuff.

This week was annoying. My Son started the extended school year, this means he goes to school for the month of July which is included in his IEP. The problem wasn’t the school but always the bus company, to make a very long story, very short, the bus company we were assigned to get him where assholes. The woman who owned the company was nasty and she never answers her phone. So when the bus was supposed to pick him up the first day they never showed up. They said my mom told them she was picking him up…um…no she didn’t, I was standing with her and my mom never said a thing, what I said to them was “When you get him my mom will be here to take him out of the bus” for some reason she took it as my mom was going to get him. The bus company woman was so mean on the phone and SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called the school and told them my husband was going to get him and not to let him on the bus. Thankfully the place that assigns the buses gave us the company my son had during the school year and my son was so happy to have his bus driver back, he even hugged him. I don’t know how some of these companies stay in business with such nasty owners that don’t care about how comfortable you feel sending your kid with a stranger. They should make you feel good to know your child will be safe.

POKEMON GO! is LIVE! I am so excited. You can catch Pokémon in the real world. The kids and I went for a nice walk looking around for Pokémon. It was a lot of fun and great way to get gamers to exercise. I have been waiting forever for this game to come out. Just have to be careful because I have heard a lot of people are going into bad places to catch Pokemon and they are getting mugged for the phone. The kids and I stay out during the day and avoid the bad area of town but it is a lot of fun to try and catch them. Trying to find them is the best part. This will be something we do down the shore a lot since it’s a nicer area.

I used my settlement and got a few books last week and got a few more this week. I have been reading a little slow but since we will be home this weekend I am hoping to clean up around the house and spend a lot of time blogging and reading. I am hoping by today I will have accomplished enough to ease my stress a little. I love going down the shore but it always leaves me feeling like I could be cleaning up or doing something else so I hope this will help!

PS Hallmark Channel has Christmas movies on all week! I am totally in my happy place! Christmas in July…Just what I needed! 🙂

  1. What the heck, girl?!?!?! Have you gone to the school board about this bus company? Have you gone to the Special Ed dept?? I would not want this to happen to any other family!!! Think of all those parents who don’t care as much as YOU do! Yikes – I don’t even want to think about it. At least they fixed it for you right away. But still!!! They are not into the job for the kids, that’s for sure!

Now you need to start playing Yo Kai Watch Wibble Wobble!!! My entire family plays it and we all sit around on our tablets and phones and play together and send “spirits” to each other. Check it out 🙂

Awesome books this week, too!! My husband spent our settlement on reading glasses for himself o.O Grrrrrr.

BTW – sorry for the late visit… I’ve been sick for the last few days but getting better now 🙂

    • The school board and special Ed don’t have anything to do with the bus company but the Essex transportation for the state has heard from us. They will help us get better drivers but sadly will still use them for other families. It’s all about the money.

I will have to check that out. Kids and I need something else to play together besides minecraft and Pokemon go 🙂

My husband had no idea I had it, he’s not a fan of reading. Which makes me question why I married him. Lol 😉

  2. The Neverland Wars sounds amazing! I like the idea of the series in a month challenge. Will earmark it and get back to that. Might try that! Seeing that I have a very popular series that I haven’t read yet just waiting for me on the shelve…. by the way – your blog is beautiful! Happy reading and hope you will have a great week!

  3. Bea

You have had the worst luck with bus companies. 🙁 I”m glad that he got his previous driver back.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Pokemon Go; it looks fun. But getting mugged and having your phone stolen, that’s awful. I hope it doesn’t happen to you all.

Happy reading and have a great week!

  4. Sorry to hear you had bus problems again. These companies should really screen their employees. Not only should they have a good driving record but also be compassionate since they are interacting with sensitive people. It’s good to hear you were able to solve this problem and Ryan is happy.

Pokémon Go is a lot of fun but we are being careful. We walk around our house and it’s funny to see other people playing the game. It’s a good thing we are getting exercise but of course bad people always have to ruin it. I hope you find a lot of different Pokémon’s on your vacation.

    Have a great week!

  5. Those horrible bus people! I am glad you are having fun with Pokemon Go, but I can’t believe people would willing go to bad places for a pokemon…that is just dumb…you stay out of bad places! 🙂 Enjoy your Christmas, I have only watched a few, not all of them that are on are my favorites.

Wow, I think that is the most books I have seen you get in a long time! 🙂 Yay!

  6. The bus situation just makes my head hurt. That sounds absolutely awful but I’m glad you were able to get back to a company you like and trust. Hopefully it will stay that way! Pokemon Go sounds fun! My 6 year old has just fallen under the Pokemon spell so this sounds like a good game to play with him. So many pretty books! I love the cover for If the Magic Fits. Have a great week!

  7. It’s a shame how much trouble you’ve had with Ryan his buss company, sorry to hear you ran into an issue again. I am glad you managed to sort it eventually and he now has the same company he had during the school year.

I am glad to hear you’re enjoying Pokémon Go so much. I saw some of your posts about it on facebook. And that sounds fun your kids play it too.

I also got a lot of new books this week, thanks to my won gift card from last week and some review copies. Not sure if I can join your series challenge, but it does sound fun! I hope you’ll have a great week!

  8. Pokemon Go sounds so fun. Unbelievable that people are getting mugged for their phones- crazy world! Anyway it sounds like a blast and I’ve seen several bloggers talk about it now.

Christmas movies huh? I don’t watch a ton of those but I love White Christmas and if I ever see it on I always watch it. Love that movie lol.
