Normal, Snow and Star Stable ~ WIR & SP

Off the Blog:

Getting back to normal this week was hard. The house is really weird without Buttons and it’s a change I can’t seem to get used to. We got her ashes back so it is comforting to know she is home.

The weather during the week was warmer than it should be and on Saturday it snowed. I feel like I have whip lash. The snow stuck to the cars and grass more than the pavement but it was still snow that needed to be shoveled, it was way too early for snow and with the week being so warm…the weather is just so confusing.

Christmas is coming fast. I finished all the gifts for the kids Santa is done with the presents for the kids so I now just need to focus on the other stuff. This weekend I am working on the Xmas Dinner Book to organize what I want to make and what I will need. I do the grocery shopping on line so I plan to set up a list so I can schedule the order for the Thursday before Christmas.

With everything going on the last 3 weeks, on Tuesday I came home to the most AMAZING surprise in the mail. It came at the perfect time and the person who sent it, I adore already, but she totally blew me away with what she sent me.

Lola from Lola’s Reviews sent me a box of Dutch Treats! Some of the most delicious stuff I ever eat. I LOVED everything in the box. The box included my favorite Licorice, some cookie type treats that have a gingerbread/Cinnamon taste to them and what might be now my favorite treat ever Stroop Wafels! They are so good. You can actually get them at Trader Joes (I found that out this week) So now when I am done with them I can get more instead of bothering Lola to send them to me for the rest of our lives. πŸ˜‰ Once again I can’t Thank you enough for such an amazing package. She is really a wonderful friend and I am so glad I meet her through the blog. Now I need to find a way to get over to meet her in person! So I can give her a hug for sending me what might be the best surprise gift I ever got!

I am currently playing a game called Star Stable. I think I mentioned it before. It’s a game that your character has horses and you can ride them and race them for coins and experience but that isn’t all, you go on awesome quests and open areas. They have about 2 main storylines that revolve around magic and evil groups but also have a bunch of other side stories that you do.Β  I absolutely love it. It’s also relaxing and they have great seasonal events. My daughter and I are Star Riders so we can explore the whole world of Jorvik and the graphics to the world are gorgeous, I get so lost in the game. I am also a complete dork because I love my horse. I have 11 with hopes they release some more so I can fill my stable. I can’t say enough about this game, the developers are doing such a great job keeping the game exciting and you get an update every week with new stuff. I can gush for hours about this game but no one wants to read that. πŸ˜‰ Check it out if you are a gamer, it’s really a great game.

  1. I completely understand the feeling. When I lost my kitty years ago, the house suddenly seemed so lonely and quiet πŸ™ Those dutch treats look amazing! I am so excited for all the 2018 reading challenges and can’t wait for COYER Switch to start!

    Have a great week!!

  3. Yeah it snowed here too and the roads were terrible for two days. It’s mostly better now but yeah mother nature seems whacked when you get warm weather and the it turns around and snows!

Nice box of treats! Go Lola!! πŸ™‚

Beauty and Beastly has quite the cover.

  4. That is so freaking nice of Lola!! I’m glad you got that pick-me-up. I am so sorry about Buttons. It will take time to find a new normal. I’m glad that you have her ashes back at home to bring some comfort and peace. I’m kind of feeling the same way about the weather. We had 80 degree days and then all of a sudden Thursday evening we got snow! We are good if we get a light snow dusting every 10 years. It’s really thrown our students for a loop and brought out the “Christmas break syndrome” already. The Man is trying a recipe for Christmas dinner. We bought a ham last night and he said it’s a 27 hour process. Hopefully, it goes well or we’re back at square one. This is his FIRST time staying in Texas for Christmas because his detective test was pushed to December 19. He has the entire month off (YAY – dates! no more Cera eating the ornaments!). So this is the first time we’ll do Christmas. While we’ve been together 3.5 years, I’m still nervous. It’s our first Christmas together. I play Paradise Bay on my phone. Usually after a while (a few months), I will move on from a game. I’ve had this one for over a year … maybe two.

    • She is amazing Lola!
      I miss her being around.
I hope you enjoy the holiday with your boyfriend. I am sure you guys will have a great time.

I play Dragonvale on my phone and have played it for years now. It’s the only game i’ve played for that long. Star Stable is on the computer and I just love getting lost in the world plus I can’t have a horse but in the game I have 11. πŸ™‚

  5. I’m so sorry about Buttons, Michelle. It’s hard, I know… we went through it earlier this year, with Thomas. But she lives on in your hearts and memories.

It’s great that you and your daughter have a game you can enjoy together. Sounds like fun, and relaxing and bonding time as well.

Lola is so sweet to send you a package of sweets! Enjoy, and have a great week!

    • Thank you! I remember that at the beginning of the year. It takes time but right now it’s so hard.

We love playing together but I do enjoy playing by myself especially when I am doing quests or just leveling up my horses. Can’t have horses in real life so I have 11 in the game πŸ™‚

She is super sweet! The package was amazing!

  6. It’s so hard to adapt after losing a pet and the house feels so empty without them. I am so sorry for your loss!

We had some colder weather this week and got some snow today. That’s nice you’re done with Christmas shopping for your kids already. We aren’t doing a lot of Christmas presents this year, but most of the ones we need are done and we’re planning on getting the rest soon.

I am so glad the package arrived at a time when you could definitely use it and that you like everything. And I am glad you were able to find the stroopwafels there.

It’s great when you get lost in a game like that. I am currently playing Yono and the celestial Elephants, it’s really cute and has some puzzles and I really like it. That Star Stable game you’re playing sounds fun and that’s great you can play it with your daughter. Have a great week!

    • Thank you, it is just so weird without her here.
I saw that your area got some snow, I am hoping it snows close to christmas, it will be nice to have a white christmas, it’s been so long since we had one that was white and cold.
      THOSE ARE SO YUMMY!!!

The game I believe was created by people in your area. Some of the text is in dutch but most was translated into English. They have different servers for different regions. The game is so fun, I never played anything quite like it, I love getting lost in the world and can’t wait for the new update next week, I really have a hard time NOT playing it! πŸ™‚

  8. Sending many, many hugs your way Michelle. I can’t imagine how strange the house must feel without Buttons there.

We still have snow from yesterday, and it snowed again overnight. It looks like it might all melt today, as it’s warmer now, and dripping everywhere. Hopefully, it won’t get too cold during the night, I don’t want slippery roads tomorrow morning.

Lola is the best! That package of goodies looks amazing πŸ™‚

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading xoxoxoxox Miss you!!

    • 15 years is a long time and it just happened so fast. I am just not used to the feeling of her not being here. I miss her so much, I think Dexter does too, he isn’t himself.

We had a good storm yesterday, everything is ice today but it will melt by Tuesday but it gets VERY cold the last half the weekend.

Lola is amazing! So many yummy stuff. I cant stop nibbling on them and don’t want them to be finished! πŸ™‚

      Miss you! oxox
