It is now over!
I made myself a nice reading spot only to lose it to the animals, husband took the kids to the movies, enjoyed my reading time alone, drank lots of coffee, eat yummy snacks, gained two reading companions only to lose one to sleep and the other got in trouble by daddy, was told by my son “I’m not really a reader, I’m just doing this with you because I love you so much”, took some breaks and seriously enjoyed the day.
WOW that was so much fun 🙂 I lasted 19 hours, A lot longer than I thought I would, I almost made it to the 20 hours but I read the same page 4 times and still didn’t know what was going on, I figured it was time to call it a night. My eyeballs are killing me but I had a blast. I also learned a lot by doing this and will be able to organize myself much better for the next one in October. I seriously had a blast.
Ok so now someone needs to tell me how to get out of read-a-thon mode, all I want to do is READ!!!!
These are the books I am reading:
- Young Houdini: The Magician’s Fire by Simon Nicholson (Physical Book)
- Young Houdini: the Demon Curse by Simon Nicholson (eArc)
- The Misadventures of the Magician’s Dog by Frances Sackett (Physical Book)
- The Boy Who Swam with Piranhas by David Almond (Physical Book)
- Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz (Physical Book)

The Misadventures of the Magician’s Dog by Frances Sackett~Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz~- Young Houdini: The Magician’s Fire by Simon Nicholson ~ Ended at Page 119 of 232
Favorite Picture of the 24 hours:
Thank you to everyone that cheered me on, it really helped me out a lot.
Really, next time I am going the whole 24 hours and doing it for charity 🙂
Have a great day! and Happy Reading
19 hours is still great! Next time you’ll make it all 24, even if I have to virtually hold your eyes open until the end! 😀
LMAO, I plan to do the entire thing next time, my eyeballs hurt so bad, I didn’t think my eyes would hurt that much 🙂
You did really good! 🙂 I was a bit disappointed as I had no cheerleaders cheering me on. I checked to make sure I was signed up for the RAT and I was but nobody stopped by my blog. 🙁
I really didn’t get anyone stopping by my blog either I signed up tp late but I did get a lot of cheers on Twitter and Instagram. I tried to post and take pictures as often as I could and would tweet at the start of each hour with a quick update. Maybe next time if I sign up early I will get more cheerleaders
lol when you read the same page 4 times, you know it’s time to call it a night. I’ll have to consider joining this readathon next time. It sounds like so much fun, although I am afraid I won’t get a lot read and that’s why I never sign-up for these things.
I was a lot of fun and I honestly didn’t think I was going to have time so I made sure I did everything the day before so I had nothing to do on Saturday but I still washed dishes and did a few things on a break. I didn’t read straight though the 19 hours.
You did great and lasted far longer than I did! I drifted in and out over the 24 hours but I had a great time and am looking forward to Oct already! Love that photo 🙂
Thanks Trish! My favorite part was taking the photos, just sad I didn’t make the mini challenges. But I think I got how to do this next time. I can’t wait.
Way to go! You are awesome. =) Beautiful blog!
Thank you Maggi! 🙂
Great job. 19 hours is a long time.
Yes it was,I was hoping to make it closer but I just couldn’t do it anymore 🙂 Thank You so much for cheering me on!
