Conspiracy in Death #audioreview

Although the crimes that Eve Dallas gets caught up with in this book weren’t the most exciting for me, the things that happened to Eve and the way her team – her friends and Rourke – rallied around her made Conspiracy in Death one of my favorites so far.

The conspiracy all centers around organs being stolen from people – people who donโ€™t matter much to society and are easily overlooked, until Eve gets on the case. The mystery was solid, it just wasn’t my favorite in the series so far and I can’t really say whyโ€ฆ I don’t know, but it wasn’t.

What I did love about Conspiracy in Death was the attack on Eve. ย I don’t want to say what happened specifically, because that’s kind of a shock moment, but it made me cry a bit. And then seeing everyone – Rourke, Peabody, Feeney, Mavis, McNabb, Nadine, Dr. Mira, and even Somerset- rally around Eve and support her was fantastic. I loved seeing how Rourke knew exactly what Eve needed and I loved seeing how much she’s cared for and respected, even by those we don’t really know well.

I’ve even grown to really like the narrator. I don’t know if her voices have improved or I’m just used to them but now I wouldn’t want any other voices for these characters – not even Peabody, who I used to say she did a horrible voice for. What can I say, her narration has allowed my addiction to go on full speed ahead so I guess I shouldn’t complain!

4.5 stars I loved it

    • I’m not to the reread point yet, but I’ll definitely be rereading this one, once I’ve caught up on the series. Thanks Jonetta ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. My sister loves this author, too. She keeps trying to convince me to read one, but mysteries (especially with romance) are not my thing. Ha ha. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am going to ask her if she has read this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Mysteries are not my thing either, so this MAY appeal. But I do like romance and the relationships – romantic and friendly – are a huge part of what makes this series.
