Real Life  News:

I hope you are sitting down…this was a normal week, nothing crazy happened and it was just a regular week…WHAT! That never happens! Thursday my husband I went out to dinner since we haven’t been out alone in a rather long time. It was a nice evening the food was delicious and after dinner we walked around Target. This is I assume what adults do after dinner, lol. We braced for a crazy storm that didn’t happen the temp was just way to warm. The second part of it was suppose to be a snow mess but instead it’s going to be some serious rain and wind with a temp drop to around 17 to -7 so it will be complete ice for at least two days. I honestly prefer snow over ice…it is easier to get rid of and still dangerous but not ice dangerous. Thankfully the kids are off on Monday but my husband and I should have an interesting commute.

Starting planning our trip to Florida and super excited for the drive. I am rather sad that we wont be able to visit universal, I wanted to see the wizarding world but for a family of 4 it’s about $800. I can’t justify paying that much to see the park especially when the kids really don’t go on rides. They would like the ones universal has but not the islands of adventure, either way it is really expensive. We are bummed but I think the universe is telling me to just go and relax. That is something I just don’t know how to do.

What I am watching:

I was planning to watch a show with my husband but even with a normal week we just didn’t have time. I still binge watched the last season of Bones…again.

Blogging:

Goodreads says I am 1 book behind, Goodreads needs to relax it’s still January.

I wasn’t able to blog as much this week but today I am planning to do a few posts and spend some time visiting. Sundays are my favorite to visit and catch up on all of your week.

Next weekend I am planning to do the 24 in 48, I haven’t done this one before. As much as I think it will be easy I am sure I will have a few distractions but it will be nice just to have a weekend to just read! Now I just need to make sure to finish all my adulting stuff during the week.

Last Week on the Blog:

What you might see this week:

  • 24 in 48 Readathon ~ My Reading Plan
  • Review The Transparency Tonic (Potion Masters #2) by Frank L. Cole
  • Review ~ LifeL1k3 by Jay Kristoff ~ My TBR List Review

Books

I was able to finish Potions Master book this week and have a review for it ready for the blog tour this week. It was a cute book and I can’t wait for the next book. Such a fun series.

LifeL1k3 so far is ok, I just started so I really don’t have a solid option yet. I do like the 3 characters at the moment that I meet so it might be something I enjoy.

The Magic Misfits according to my daughter was just a great book that she needed me to order book two so she can start it this weekend so I got it on Friday. It’s good because I wanted to read it also so I planned to purchase it anyway. I have two other books I got this week but I didn’t post them since they are from the Owlcrate boxes and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone that didn’t get it yet so I will post those next week. My daughter got some cute stuff in the Owlcrate Jr Box but the Owlcrate box for me had one of my most anticipate books for this year in it and I almost cried, the book was just recently released too and has an exclusive cover for owlcrate. It’s stunning in person and I can’t wait to read it.

  1. My husband and I laugh because we often talk about trips to places like Target or the grocery store as “date night.” At least you started out with dinner. LOL! I love that meme at the bottom of your post, by the way. I think laundry is definitely standing between me and true happiness. I’ve been doing a lot of organizing at my house lately, inspired by Marie Kondo. When I grabbed a giant basket of laundry out of my son’s room, I said, “This laundry is definitely not bringing me joy. I guess that means I should just toss it, right?” If only! 🙂

  2. Haha! Yeah, I’ve had those good and quiet moments where it all went too smoothly and I’m absolutely sure I stepped into someone else’s life. 🙂
Glad you had a nice dinner out and sounds like your vacation is shaping up. Yeah, sometimes a do nothing vacay is just right.
Those Owlcrate boxes have the best treats and books from what I’ve seen in folks’ videos.

    Enjoy your week, Michelle!

    • I am also sure I am forgetting that I needed to do something lol but I can’t remember so it’s totally a normal week.
I do need to learn to relax, I tend to not do that as often as I should.
Loved the box this month. I will have the pictures next week. Sometimes I think the boxes are expensive but I really do love the surprises.

  3. My week was normal for me. In other words it was kinda crazy. But I survived it. Yay!

Oh! I think I voted for LifeL1k3! I need to add that to my TBR. I hope you enjoy it!

LOL That random. Pretty sure it’s laundry AND dishes. Seriously.

I hope you have a fantastic week, Michelle! XOXO

  4. Yay for a quiet week. I’m glad you enjoyed dinner and absolutely, I enjoy long walks down Target any day lol. The park prices are ridiculous! My husband wants to plan a family trip but there is a lot of things he and I want to do that the kids can’t so we have to try and find a balance not to mention money lol.

Goodreads definitely needs to chill. You have loads of time to catch up.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

    • We love the parks and fun places like that but I recently said to my husband that maybe we can make some trips to just visit places. Like national parks or museum, maybe even just visit an area with a lot of history. Not sure if the kids will 100% enjoy that but it would be nice to try out and MUCH Cheaper. lol

  5. A normal week!! What is that like? Haha! Have fun in FL! We got so much rain here yesterday. Our back yard is a shallow pond now and its gonna be a muddy nightmare come spring. Today the temps PLUNGED! Its in the negatives today. Crazy weather.

    • Its very rare but I will take it lol. I am excited we aren’t going until April but I get rather excited about things and obsess over them. I really can use the time off and I think this will be a nice trip.

We get lots of rain here in the spring. The temp was 46 this morning and about 23 now. It suppose to drip to 10 tonight.

  6. Yay for Florida! That’s always nice to look forward to. And I can’t believe how expensive the parks are- it’s so ridiculous.

Goodreads needs to chill, definitely. 🙂

Nice quiet weeks are good- hope your weekend has been nice as well!

  7. I’m glad you got to have both a normal week and date night! It sounds really nice 🙂 We don’t go out much as a couple, either – but next weekend, we’re going away just the two of us.
Goodreads can be such a buzz kill! Don’t listen 😉
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading! I miss you!! Xoxo

    • Last time we went out I think was in August and I can’t remember if we actually went out or just ordered in since the kids were at the shore house with my parents. We are planning to go away for a weekend in October to Boston. I haven’t been up there in a long time and wanted to see if the kids would like to visit so we will check it out first.

Goodreads needs to just relax, I will get ahead, I am in a much better place this year. It will be fine! lol

  8. Quiet weeks are nice! Really nice! And yay for a Florida trip! Bummer that you can’t make Universal. But if your kids aren’t ones for rides, then yeah an extra two theme parks won’t be worth it, because you have to get a 2 park pass to enjoy all the Harry Potter wonderfulness! (It’s honestly part of the reason why I went solo last year because I wanted to do everything I wanted to do that I was unable to 2 years prior!)

Nice new read too! It’s a new to me one but I hope you enjoy it!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    • I thought about going with just my sister but I know my husband wants to see it. I didn’t realize how expensive it would be. We plan to just to go Magic Kingdom because it’s cheaper and maybe Disney Springs. since I know the kids love both of those places. I really wanted to get a wand and experience the wizarding world but maybe next time. We just need to save up a little more for that kind of trip.

  9. I love Florida! We try to go there every 2-3 years and it does cost a small fortune… Or a big one considering we’re heading over from the UK but it’s always worth it. I hope you have a lovely time. I love the planning of the trips almost as much as being on the trip!

Goodreads is currently telling me that I’m 4 books behind. I’m not worried. Like you said, it’s January. Goodreads needs to calm itself.

    Have a good week Michelle!

    • We are actually driving to cut the cost of flights, I can’t even imagine the cost from the UK. We still plan to go to Magic Kingdom and might hit downtown Disney since it is free with stores and restaurants which could be a very fun afternoon.

It cracks me up when it tells me I am behind. I will catch up eventually lol
