Monthly Book Report Jan 2017

Posted February 1, 2017 by Michelle in Monthly Book Report / 5 Comments

This was a slow reading month, I am so disappointed with myself and how many books I read and reviewed! For a book blogger, I don’t have a lot of book reviews, lol. I plan to read a few novellas in the next couple of days to try and bring my numbers up and hopefully give myself a buffer for reading. I think I am stressing because I don’t have any reviews for the blog and it’s causing me to stress over finding other things to fill it. Well lets hope this next month is different, a little shorter with only 28 days but I will be reading as much as I can. I really need a 24 hour read-a-thon to get my reading jumpstarted, lol.

Books I read this month

  • King by T.M. Frazier four-stars
  • Tyrant by T.M. Frazier five-stars
  • Big rock by Lauren Blakely four-stars
  • Truth or Beard by Penny Reid DNF

What I hope to read next month

Embers is a re-read so I want to try to read that one slowly throughout the month so next month I can start on the next book in the series. The books are VERY long so I think they might take me some time. The Bone Witch is pretty good but I had to stop this month to read my TBR List book so I am hoping to finish this one this month, it was a little slow. I might be squeezing in a few novellas to create a buffer for reviews, since the reading is a little slow I need to read quick books to get my backlog up and reviews posted.

  1. Sorry you didn’t have a great reading month 🙁 I actually had a decent month – read 18 books, which puts me 7 books ahead of my reading challenge goal. I have no idea how that happened, except that I had a couple weeks with really good books that moved faster. Also a couple DNFs called faster than I used to. That helps I think too 🙂 Don’t stress the reviews! If you have afew days with nothing on the blog, it’s ok! HUGS:)

  2. I read 13 books in January and am total surprised at how many I did read. Although I think about half of those were novella’s, which really helps a lot. It does sound like you had some good reads, I even see a 5 star in there and two 4 stars :). I also had one 5 star book this month. Monster Hunting looks great! I hope it’s a good one, I like the cover for it. Nice list for next month, I hope you get to read them all. I also made a sort of list for next month as there are quite some books I want to get to.

  3. Well hopefully Feb is better. I think Monster hunters and Frost Blood look good. Hopefully they turn out good. I had a better reading month than normal but I’m sure that will go down in February. 🙂

  4. January was slow for me too. I don’t quite know what happened although I think it was sort of a slump that I didn’t recognize until I was already out of it – sounds strange huh? I only finished 5 books but since I’m over halfway done with my next read, I’m hoping an early February read will jump start a good month. I like reading novellas and graphic novels from time to time and they do help with reviews on the blog. Tor.com sends me lots of good novellas. Here’s hoping we both hit February out of the ballpark.
