Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

So YAY! The weather finally stopped being hot but now it’s kind of cold….like freezing. Some nights have been below freezing and the next few weeks isn’t going to be above 60. Doesn’t stop me from sleeping with the window open but still. It’s chilly spooky season. I might be extremely happy about it.

The 24 Hour Readathon was on Saturday, I will let you know next week how I did but as of right now I was able to finish one book and started My TBR List book. I was only planning on 12 to 18 hours but I think I will make it a solid 16. I plan to try the 24 in 48 Readathon next year because I think I can do that easier. I am not built to last 24 hours anymore. 🙂 I am also realizing I need to do a good day of reading every so often just for myself. Like a vacation from the real world. Thankfully once again the readathon has reminded me why I love reading and my blog so much.

I am still trying to get ahead with my posts, this weekend was busy so I wasn’t able to get a lot of post (just one) ready for next week so it will be slow week. I am hoping to work on some posts today in the AM and after Pokemon Community Day. Next weekend I am going to try and get all the sign up posts for challenges and a few other end of the year wrap up posts drafted. Some things are waiting for designs. I have a lot of personal design work to finish and one big project that I wanted to start for next year. I am excited about it but I am keeping it to myself for now, I am hoping to get most of it completed before the spring of next year. I also need to finish up our blog design, I am so excited for all the changes.

Work still sucks and is very draining emotionally, I come home at night feeling so wiped out but I am still not sure what I want to do, so for now I am stuck. Thankfully I have the my family, the blog, books, and Limabean Designs to keep me grounded. I am trying to keep positive, do my work and go home. It’s what I look forward to most.

Since I haven’t updated about them in a while. The kittens are doing very good and feeling a lot more comfortable in the house. They sort of took over. 🙂 Auggie is still a little nervous about my son but otherwise is such a good boy. He does cause some mischief but a very funny and sweet little guy. Calliope is so funny, she loves to play when she is not judging your every move. They are both such good babies, even with the halloween decorations, the real test with be Christmas when the house is fully decorated. They are getting so big…we Auggie is, Calliope must have been the runt of the litter because she is much smaller than him. Sometimes when he is cuddled next to the dog they always look like they are the same size. You can follow them on instagram @theparsonspets 🙂

  1. I’m so sad that we seemed to have skipped fall! It went from the 80s to the low 50s in my area 🙁 I think we had like… two or three days that were in the comfortable high 60s without rain. I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a difficult time at work… It’s no fun coming home totally drained!

  2. I’m ready for the colder weather, so tired of the summer. I understand working a job you don’t enjoy, but not being able to get away because of needing a job. I am glad to say I am past that now, finally got a library job a few years ago. I still need to pick up my copy of The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein, but have not had the time! Hope you have a better week. You can check out my Sunday post in the link below!

  3. The weather is cooling down here as well which is nice. I hope you had fun with the readatahon, it is nice to read more than usual on a day. Sounds like you’re pretty busy with design work too, that’s great :).

I am sorry to hear your day job is still so draining, I hope you can find something else to do eventually.

I love hearing the updates about your cats and seeing the pictures. They are so cute. I think female cats usually are a bit smaller than male ones, so that might also contribute to their size difference. I am glad to hear they’re both doing so well!

Looks like you got some nice books from your boxes. I hope you’ll enjoy them. Have a great week!

    • The weather is so nice. Most of the design is personal but I have plans for it next year. I would rather be a little slow this time of year because of the holidays and that also means I can work on Premades again now.

It just sucks and I hate going. I really hope by next year I can figure out what I want to do.

I am not sure about female cats. My Buttons was HUGE, she was a very big girl, almost the same size as dexter. Calliope is very small but maybe it’s because she is younger or a runt. The vet doesn’t think she will get much bigger. Auggie is just a big boy. I think he is going to get a little bigger. His feet are like tiger paws.

  4. Good job on the readathon! I can’t stay up for 24 hours anymore, either. (Not that I ended up with any time for Dewey anyway, darn it.) Your kitties are adorable as always. I’m sorry work is so draining but it sounds like your design work helps recharge you a bit. Creative work is good for that! I’m heading out soon to direct my children’s and youth chorus rehearsals, and they are always so much fun. Exhausting, but also fulfilling.

Have a great week and enjoy the cooler weather!

    • Thank you, I think for dewey for at least now I can handle a good 12 to 18 hours. It was just so nice to read.
Thank goodness they are cute, they sometimes drive me crazy lol
It does recharge me, I want to find a job that allows me to do the work I am currently doing. I love that type of design.
I love that you do that with the children. It must be a lot of fun.

  5. Two books in your Owlcrate? WOW! And I really like these as I’ve read many wonderful reviews about them. Now I know that work can be tiring as it beat my behind for weeks now conflicting with my blogging. I am too tired in the evening to write as much as I usually do. Here to hope next week goes better <3

  6. Only 10 more Fridays until Christmas!? I should put my tree up! (I will use any reason to decorate for Christmas!) Hopefully your job situation gets better. Its tough to go to a job every day when your heart isn’t in it!

    • I always wish I could decorate as soon as I take down the halloween stuff. lol but the family wont let me.
I wish I could figure out what to do next but I might start looking for another job and maybe I will find something better or even something that will work for now until I can find something better, just to get out of there.

  7. You can have all my chilly weather!!!!! I want fall back and what we have is not fall it’s more like the beginning of winter! 🙁 I stayed up later than I ever have but I am feeling it now as I get ready for church…may be a zombie in church today…lol. Right now I feel like if I lay down I will not get back up…lol.
I love Pride and Prejudice and have been curious about Pride, all your books look super cool!

    Have fun Pokemoning and reading!

    • Are zombies allowed in church?
I didn’t make it as far as I wanted I was falling asleep at 11:30 and just went to bed at 12. I am going to try the other challenge in Jan ( I think it’s jan) to see if I can do that one better or just spend a day reading for myself once in a while.

I keep getting this feeling that we are going to get a VERY cold winter.

  8. I like it when it’s chilly this time of year too. Although it got almost TOO chilly today- mid 30’s, rained all day, had hail briefly.

16 hours- wow that’s awesome for the readathon. I could never read that long lol.

    Cute cat pics! 🙂

    • The weather people keep hinting at snow but I really think it’s too early in this area for it.

16 hours is pretty much the longest i can go. I love the idea of reading all day but it does make your eyes hurt and you very tired the next day 🙂
