There is a right way and a wrong way to summon her.

Jess had done the research. Success requires precision: a dark room, a mirror, a candle, salt, and four teenage girls. Each of them--Jess, Shauna, Kitty, and Anna--must link hands, follow the rules . . . and never let go.

A thrilling fear spins around the room the first time Jess calls her name: "Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. BLOODY MARY." A ripple of terror follows when a shadowy silhouette emerges through the fog, a specter trapped behind the mirror.

Once is not enough, though--at least not for Jess. Mary is called again. And again. But when their summoning circle is broken, Bloody Mary slips through the glass with a taste for revenge on her lips. As the girls struggle to escape Mary's wrath, loyalties are questioned, friendships are torn apart, and lives are forever altered.

A haunting trail of clues leads Shauna on a desperate search to uncover the legacy of Mary Worth. What she finds will change everything, but will it be enough to stop Mary--and Jess--before it's too late?

My Review:

As a kid pretty much every slumber party someone always dared you to go in the bathroom, turn off the lights and say Bloody Mary 3 times in the Mirror….well, NOPE didn’t do it then will not do it now, don’t think I’ll ever do it after reading this. Someone who is a horror fan might not find this that scary but for someone who likes a good scare every so often would find this a bit creepy.

4 BFF’s in a dark bathroom with candles, salt and a mirror, they never thought that they would actually see Mary but when something goes wrong and now Mary is attached to one of the girls and things get really scary, no one is safe from Mary’s revengeful spirit.

This is my first story about Bloody Mary, it’s not a retelling just a different version of the original story (the backstory of Mary) I love the main character Shauna, she is a great character to follow along in the story. I liked the other girls also and actually felt bad for Mary. I LOVED her back story and would have loved to have more details which I am hoping for in the next book. I grew to not like Jess and found what she did to her friends to be awful, not a very good friend. She is a good character to hate and kind of don’t feel bad about what happens at the end. (my lips are sealed on what that is)

I enjoyed the characters, loved the story and it had a great amount of creepy that I kind of had to turn the lights on in the bathroom before walking in. This reminds me of a cool movie you would see during Halloween on the Syfy channel (my favorite kind) I’m looking forward to reading the rest in this series and find out what happens, the end was not really a cliffhanger but it makes you want more, for sure.

recommend: 100%
