#Review ~ Beauty and the Clockwork Beast (Steampunk Proper Romance #1) by Nancy Campbell Allen

I don’t even know where to start! I love, love, love, Lucy and Miles. I thought this book was just a great twist of the Beauty and the beast story. I loved the mystery that was involved. I loved the paranormal elements. I even loved the idea of Steampunk all rolled in. This book was fantastic. It took me a while to read it and it does have a slight slow spot that is easily overcome when you really start getting halfway through. I thought the story was different and the characters so full of life. This book even has GHOSTS! It was just filled with all the awesome stuff a great story should have. 🙂

Lucy was a strong, independent Heroine that knew exactly what she wanted. Miles was guarded but had a good heart, because of his face scar and other issues he felt that no one could ever love a beast (see what I did there). The chemistry between the two was a little slow build and I actually liked that. I really enjoyed experiencing their time together. There are a few other characters in this book that I enjoyed, they added so much to the story. I loved the drama in the story it had really exciting parts that had my heart racing hoping everything would work out. This is a clean read so nothing explicit and it had minor violence.

Overall, This book was everything I had hoped for. When I first saw it come out I knew I needed to get my hands on it and thankfully, BEA provided. I couldn’t be happier and have heard they are planning to retell other fairly tales, I can’t wait. I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice, clean and intense story that has some pretty amazing characters!
