The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars, One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.
Pay close attention and you might solve this.
On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High's notorious gossip app.
Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn't an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he'd planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who's still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.
So if most remember this wasn’t the book that was picked for me. I started Killing November and realized I hated the narrator, she talked too fast and I wasn’t following the story very well. So instead of just saying, Oh Well this month didn’t work, I decided to go ahead and listen to the second place winner instead. I am so glad I did. This book was GREAT! I loved the voices and the characters and the story had me guessing up until the end. It was one of those stories that had such strong character build and also the growth of characters flows with each chapter. While I wasn’t a fan of the up front love story that it had I was still happy in the end. I loved the twists and turns that this story took and the mystery of who killed Simon was kept me guessing. I also thought that the issues the 4 kids had really mimicked real life. (I wont say what since it would give some things away). I enjoyed reading in all the POVs but think I liked Addy the most. I really thought she grew the most and maybe Bronwyn too. Coopers voice was super sexy and I just adored Nate.
Whether you listen to the story like I did (Highly recommend) or read it I can’t recommend this book enough. I really enjoyed it and ignored my entire family for the last 3 hours of the book. I am glad that I decided to go head and listen to this one instead. I found out that she is writing a sequel to this story called One of Us is Next and I can’t wait!
Thanks for stopping by to check out my review.
Have a great day and Happy Reading!
