This book has one hell of a twist I didn’t see coming. I was totally wrong about everything. I didn’t realize how much this book would get to me until a few days later. Relic reminds me of a SyFy movie, I love horror Syfy movies so this was actually perfect.
I loved the characters but I didn’t connect with them until after I finished the book, I know that sounds really strange, it’s hard to explain. I really thought I knew who was doing it but was not expecting that ending. The story is very interesting and super creepy, I loved all the background stories. As much as I didn’t connect with all the characters I actually really liked Annie the MC.
Gretchen McNeil can really write a good scary story. The characters remind me of her Get Even series, I also had connection issued but actually enjoyed them. This is a great read and I am glad the end is left sort of open for a second book. I really hope it does have a second book. I recommend this if you are looking for something to give you goosebumps at night with lots of twist, unexpected moments and something to think about for the next few days, it really gets in your head when you REALLY think about what happened.

This one was very good, Get Even is still my favorite but I must say this comes in a close second.
I’ve been looking at this one for a while- and if you and Stormi both loved the twist I may have to give in and get it. I love twists that blow your mind! And this one sounds spooky as all get out. And I of course loved Get Even . I may have to read this in October for spooky month lol.

I’ve yet to read McNeil but I have Get Even sitting on my shelf. Relic sounds like a good read if it kept you guessing the entire time and gave you goosebumps, even if your connection to the characters didn’t sink in until after you finished the book. I don’t know if that’s happened to me before but I’m sure it has…like, allowing the story is marinate in your brain after finishing changed your perspective? I think I get it. And now that I’m thinking on it, I think I felt that way about the characters in Gone Girl. Anyway, I think I’ll give Get Even a go in October. 😀
I LOVE Get Even, You need to read that series. It was soooo good. I loved the 4 girls. I wished it was three books but enjoyed it anyway.
It really messes you up after when you really sit to think about what actually happened. I do hope she does another one.
