News at Home
We had a great week!
I was off Monday because I take all Federal Holidays off (we don’t have any days off unless we take them), but Dante had his normal schedule. So I treated myself. Went to First Watch for Breakfast and some reading. Then got my nails done. Came home and read some more, took a little nap, then met my friend for a late lunch before picking Dante up from therapy. We did our normal Monday afternoon for OT, followed by park and home for dinner and family time.
Tuesday was back to work, but I also had my performance review. I got really great feedback, am getting a 5% raise in March and a fantastic bonus (part of my offer but I am still shocked that it’s real… long way from teaching and government work), and then my RFUs are also increasing. Tuesday evening was my local book club – I’ve only resumed going regularly this year and I’m enjoying it again.
Wednesday – Friday were extraordinarily normal. I am actually training our newest engineer a bit, so that’s neat. And I’ve taken over some higher level work and doing well with it, so that’s exciting too. Besides that it was work, park with Dante, visiting with my brother and brother-in-law. Nice and normal. Saturday was a busy day – lunch with a friend I don’t see often at all (I think it’s been a year) and then Franky and Helena stopped by unexpectedly for a short visit. And then Dante and I went to the park for a walk and play time along with Brandee who was in town.
So a busy but good week. Lots going on as usual!

#FitReaders2023
Felicia the Geeky Blogger and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About co-host this fitness-oriented group and I’m glad to be part of it for another year.
Goals for 2023:
This year I’m just focusing on habits that make me feel good and may/may not lead to weight loss. And rather than over-arching year long goals, I’ll be updating my goals on a week-by-week basis.
This week: Returning to my nutritionist was a great decision! I have only had one soda since I resumed with her. This week I added the goal of being more aware of my snacking – only having 2 servings of high sugar/things that turn to sugar (bread, crackers, etc) each day and I only have gone over that goal once.
Next week: I think I’ll keep the same goals this week, unless she suggests adding on. I’ve also been trying to get in some exercise (10 – 15 minutes) most evenings.
I’ve never had my nails done but I have done them myself. I have to have really short ones because I’m on the computer all the time typing. I can’t type in long nails. Sounds like a good week. I hope you have another good week.
That’s awesome that you managed to have a WHOLE good week! Really happy to hear your new job environment appreciates you 👍.
