Week in READview:
First I need to Announce a change to my Series in a Month Challenge Books. I was originally going to read Six of Crows but I think I want to read the Shadow and Bone series first and then Six of Crows however I might end up watching the show before reading the books, blasphemy I know, but I am an adult and I can do what I want! 😉 So I am switching my series to this set of books, the third is set for 2022 but there is no info on if or when it will be actually published. Since the rules for the challenge changed to allow two books as long as they were good sized novels I thought these would be perfect. So I will be reading…..
Second I can finally breath through my nose. The last 5 months (yes 5) I have not been able to breath like a normal human being. I thought it was allergies or maybe just the weather but apparently my nose sucks and so I went to the doctors on Tuesday. I have something blocking my nose hole (polyp) he gave me lots of meds and if it didn’t work I have to see an ENT (might do that anyway) BUT I can finally breath through my nose. I know what things smell and taste like now. I can eat for the enjoyment and not just to survive. Before I would eat and then blow my nose to see how it tasted. It was a weird process that I am glad is finally over. I do miss my wine but once the meds are over I can finally taste that again too.
I have 3 major projects that I plan to work on in the coming weeks (months). Since I am currently home and don’t plan to seek employment until the pandemic is a little more under control (which I hope will be soon) I decided that I had a few projects I have wanted to do and this might help the next chapter of my life moving forward. My main project is updating My Limabean Designs website and getting it in better shape to actually use as a selling point since at the moment it was just there to show off work. I would like to use it for my pre-made covers and a place for my clients to go and see what I have planned or get updates on when I will be open to take work or just regular update or tips when it comes to design or things you might need. It will be a long project but I am looking forward to getting started. My other two projects I have been working on for a while but just never got them off the ground because I have been so busy, I will explain those at some point, maybe once I get more into the projects.
The weather this week got progressively better, on Saturday it rained but from what I can see this might be the last of the major weather with a chance of winter mix. It looks like we will be getting into the upper 40s and upper 50s, I can’t wait to air out this house and open all the windows!
Will hopefully be working on some blog posts todays, this week every time I make plans for the day something always happens and the day doesn’t go as planned so I hope maybe today I can draft and get a few posts done for March.
Read, Currently Reading, Next:
Ravish Her was pretty interesting, over the top alpha male, insta love and lots of sex, oh and time travel. I do hope Jenika writes more of this type of book because I actually really enjoyed it.
I am currently reading The Initial Insult because Edgar is my home slice and Mindy can write a good book. I received The Ladies of the Secret Circus for review and one thing I wanted to do this year was if I read it I review it, while I am not doing so good with that at the moment, there is no time like today to get back on the horse and try again. So I plan to read before it is released so I can have a review ready to post.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Excited to read your review of the Secret Circus, it kind of reminds me a bit of the Night Circus which was one of my favorite books
Not being able to smell, taste or breathe properly had to be awful! I’m so glad the issue was found. I hear such good things about Jenika Snow. I really need to give her a try.
Glad to hear your nose situation is better and you can breathe thru your nose! The Shadow & Bone trilogy is a pretty fast read so you can def. blaze through it. I love the art you made for my blog!
II am glad you were able to find some relief for your nose–and figure out what was wrong. I owe you an e-mail, and I apologize for not responding sooner. It was a crazy week. I am looking forward to reading The Ladies of the Secret Circus also. I’ll be curious to know your thoughts on it when you read it. I really want to get my daughter into the Neil Patrick Harris series. Okay, so I want to get into it, but she hasn’t shown any interest yet. She’s all about the Dork Diaries (why did I buy her the next three in the series?!). LOL I complain in jest, really. I’m so glad she’s enjoying the books. It’s a fun series. I completely forgot to sign up for COYER Spring. I’ll do that this coming weekend. I’m looking forward to it. 🙂 I hope you have a great week, Michelle!
Good luck with your projects! And glad tohear they’re finding what’s wrong with your nose. that must be maddening. I’m ready for spring as well.
Take care this week Michelle!
Thank you!
It was really annoying not being able to breath but by the spring allergies and I wont be able to breath again lol
Well it sounds to me like you are making good decisions and some progress on what to do now. It’s a good thing to make changes when you figure out the current plan isn’t going where you want. Have a great week!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I am hoping this will send me in the right direction. I am feeling very positive about it. I plan to start a few things tomorrow and I am not sure if I am nervous or excited lol
Yay for breathing!! I know how awful it is. I had sinus surgery about 20 years ago now. They thought initially I had a polyp but I didn’t. Have a great week!
I have been to an ENT a while ago and told me I have a polyp in my nose but I think it either came back or I have another much larger one. So If after the meds it comes back I will be going back to the ENT.
I’m so glad that you are able to breathe! It’s so awful when there’s something like that going on and no one knows what’s causing it. I’m glad that it’s finally figured out though. <3
Also, Ravish Her looks REALLY good. I will have to check that out on Goodreads.
I am hoping this will stay like this so I can just breath without having to go to any more doctors lol
Ravish Her was very good, I really want her to write more of those.
I hope the series you plan to read for the challenge is a good one!
Wow 5 months without being able to breathe through your nose? That sounds annoying! That’s good to hear the meds you got seem to work a bit at least and you can now breathe through you nose again.
That sounds like a great plan to update your Limabean Designs website! let me know when it’s done so I can share it. Good luck with it and the other two projects and let me know if I can help with anything! I am excited to hear you’ll be focusing on your design business a bit more, I really like your design work. I am always amazed at what you come up with and I enjoy working with you.
I didn’t realize I had to sign up again for Coyer spring, so will do that next week. I hope you’ll have a good week!
It was annoying but I usually breath out of my nose so at night I would wake up because I couldn’t breath. It was just getting to the point I wanted to start tasting food.
My website has needed a redo for a while and I have been avoiding it but I think I now have the time to be able to do it and hopefully do it correctly. I am excited to start.
COYER is now in 4 seasons so each season you have to just make a statement saying you are joining so even a twitter post is fine.
I still need to read King of Scars myself but it’s most likely that I will be watching the show before I read these last Grisha books. It can be a lot to need to read a series before the film version. I still haven’t finished the Midnight Texas series book wise and that show already ended! Whoops! Lol. I did read the first book before the first season, but I fell behind on the rest of the books.
Nice new reads! I’m getting super curious about The Initial Insult! I hope you enjoy that one! Can’t wait to read your thoughts on it! Happy Reading all around!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I always say I will read the book before I watch and i never do so it will probably be the same for this. I did read a good chunk of Six of Crows a year ago, not sure why I never finished, it might have been because I realized I wanted to read the first three first.
The Initial Insult is good, I do have some issues with characters but it’s seems true too Poe with a lot of angst. 🙂
