Reading:
So I had to put aside Kill the Farm Boy, not because I wasn’t liking it, I actually thought it was very funny and it seemed like it was going to be so fun to read but I just wasn’t in the mood for it. With the holidays it was hard to stay focused so I decided to put it aside and going to try again at another time.
I am jumping into my next TBR book and have a few ARCs to get too before the end of Jan. I am going to try and organize my shelves this year with goodreads and get my reading a little more organized. I feel like I am getting more books than I am actually reading and I miss reading!

Real life:
I feel like I am in limbo between Christmas and New Years, I am always totally confused.
Christmas Eve was great, we had a fun time with family and I cooked for Christmas day for my family, my parents, sister and nephew. It was a nice quiet day with some yummy food.
The kids were very happy with what “Santa” brought them and the family got me 3 books (see above) two bottles of my favorite wine and two boxes of Hazelnut k-cup coffee. I am looking forward to a quiet New Years and we are going to take down the decorations next week. I really can’t wait for things to go back to normal.
Even thought Christmas was a bit crazy, the rest of the week was great. We slept late and just hung around. I didn’t cook for 3 days, which was fantastic. I do love to cook but I needed the break from cooking and getting up early. The weather has been gorgeous and we are suppose to get some heavy rain today which is fine, since we plan to make it a lazy day before heading back to work on Monday.
Going to spend some time today going over my calendar and getting ready for the New Year! 🙂
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

Love the covers on the books you got! The ones you have coming up to read look cool too! I love middle grade books! Hope the new year brings you great things!
I’m kind of ready for normal too. I love the holidays but man it was hectic this year- but then it is every year as we travel all over creation lol. 🙂 Glad you had a nice one and hopefully got to relax this weekend before going back to work. I always get discombobulated over the holidays too as I lose track of what day it is lol.
I also had a hard time focusing on books during the holidays and had to DNF one. I’m glad you had a good Christmas. Have a great week!
Glad you had a good holiday!!! Hope this week is great too!
Thanks it was awesome, I am so sad it over. 🙂
Kill the Farm Boy is best in small doses and I loved it on audio. Glad you had a lovely holiday and I hope the New Year brings you great joy!
I was actually thinking I might try it in Audio so I am glad you loved it like that. I will probably do that instead.
I bought The Shadow of What Was Lost for my son for Christmas, I hope you enjoy it.
We’ve been sleeping in too, in fact I usually have to drag the kids out of bed at midday.
Wishing you a great reading week and a Happy New Year
Thank you, the books are huge but it looks like something I will devour in the summer. I love reading chunky books when it’s warm outside. I don’t know why that is. lol
I am so sad I have to get up early tomorrow, I love sleeping in 🙂
I know this time of the year is strange and has me all confused too especially when Christmas happen in the middle of the week! Anyway I am glad to read that you had a great Christmas!
I feel like I don’t know what to do, do I start doing stuff or wait until the new year. It’s all so confusing lol 🙂
I’m glad you had a lovely holiday. I did more cooking and more big house projects and am hoping for a quieter and more bookish week this week. I am working, slowly on my Bookish Resolutions Post. I thought the Top 10 was really fun and plan to do it next year so I will be looking for ideas / a new 2020 graphic. 🙂
Happy New Year Michelle!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Just let me know when you are ready 🙂 They are fun posts, I wanted to do something this year just ran out of time.
You still have time to get your resolutions in order. I just finished mine and already think I want to add one or two more. 🙂
Sound like you have a lovely Christmas. I was lucky this year, Michelle, a lot less time spent in the kitchen cooking! Lol! Christmas lunch was just us (Hubby and our girls) and my family came round for Christmas supper which is much easier.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
Here’s my Sunday Post

I love cooking for the holidays, it’s really my favorite things to do and I love having the family over. After all the cooking it was nice to have a couple days off but tonight I cook again 🙂
Glad you had a nice holiday too! Seems so far everyone had a mix of chaos and quiet! Ours was more on the quiet end but still eventful.
Nice new reads too! Hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS

Glad you had a quiet holiday. It’s always a mix for me but the last few days has been wonderful.
