Week in READview:

  • DID YOU WATCH JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS??!?!? If you didn’t go watch it! It was AMAZING! I love the music and have a feeling that soundtrack is going to be on repeat (It already is). It was such a great show and I had such anxiety, so worried about the guys, but OMG that ending!!!! Highly recommend, there is a good possibility I will watch it again and youtube the music videos.
  • This week was all about cheer practice and getting my daughter ready for competitions. Had to get a hair piece (did you know they have fake hair?!), some hair ties, gel/spray to keep her hair from moving and 1000 Bobby pins, yes 1000. Make-up will be next but I haven’t heard what to buy yet. One of the coaches did a tutorial on how to do the hair and it was INSANE! but the coach is hilarious. I had to watch it twice so I wasn’t laughing the second time but it was hard not to. The make up is going to be intense, I have no idea how to do make-up so this will be interesting.
  • My daughter got contacts! She passed her test to get them and is on a trial for the next week before she goes back to get her full prescription.
  • I have three people left to Christmas shop for and I am done! YAY! (stocking stuffers too but those don’t count) 🙂
  • Work is super slow, like scary slow, while we can’t close, I did take a week off between Christmas and new years to take a recharge, I think a lot of us could use a break. I am worried about my job we might have to cut more of our hours and I can’t afford that so if anyone needs anything done….see my reminder below!
  • Decorations are still all in one piece and the tree has not fallen over….good girl, Poppy Von Schweetz! 🙂
  • Also go watch Julie and the Phantoms! I am going to obsess over this for a while!

What I grabbed:

For my Mistletoe Montana posts I grabbed those 3 short reads and read them this week as they were released. I will have a review of these three books on Monday. The series is being released each day for 17 days so I am planning on reading the ones that came out that week and review on Monday or Wednesday. Cute Sexy Christmas stories that are quick reads.

Among the Beasts & Briars has an alternate cover that I LOVE. Please the box had some really great stuff in it.

  1. My kids are in the color guard so I know all about the crazy hair and whatever stuff they have to do! Good luck too with your tree haha- hopefully the kitty cooperates. 🙂

That’s awesome being almost done w/ all the shopping- I still have to start!

    Love the Owlcrate!

  2. I have not heard of Julie and the Phantoms, lol.

Cheer practice makeup and hair sounds scary. My daughter used to do ballet and gymnastics. It was just the basic stuff, not competition, but it was still a lot to go through. I cannot even imagine for cheer routines!

Good job on the Christmas shopping. I have bought for zero people so I need to step it up!!

Hooray for contacts! I remember finally being able to get them and as a kid it was a relief because I hated glasses. Now as an adult, I prefer glasses because I am too lazy for bothering with the extra care and responsibility of contacts, lol. As per your comment just above… I don’t remember having to pass a “test” per se, but I do remember them sticking a soft contact in my eye and I had to take it out by myself a couple of times (in a row) to prove I could do it and then they wrote the prescription.

    Have a great week!

  3. Glad the Christmas tree has stayed up! Also, it doesn’t surprise me at all about the fake hair. I twirled baton for YEARS as a kid and I know about the braids, hairspray, bobby pins, etc. It was intense!
    Have a great week!

  4. The hairpins thing reminds me of when my daughter had rules for dance and they didn’t want her to wear underwear with the leotard (but she had her period and wears pads so yeah) They said totally wear underwear. I hope you can enjoy the holiday and time off! Have a great week and see you at COYER stuff.

  5. I had to google Julie and the Phantoms as I had no idea what it even was! Apparently, it is on Netflix UK so I’ll need to double-check (don’t trust random google search, lol) and check it out. 🙂

The hair routine for cheer scares me. All those bobby pins… I’m getting a tension headache in sympathy!

Good luck finishing the Christmas shop! I’ve got to finish off my son’s stuff and that’s me finished… That said, I’ve got all the wrapping and posting still to do so I probably shouldn’t get too excited just yet!

  6. That sounds intense getting your daughter ready for the cheer practice. That’s good news your tree and decorations are still standing, hopefully Poppy will leave everything intact.

I am sorry to hear about your work being so slow. That’s scary when you don’t know what will happen to your job. Hopefully your design work on the side helps a bit. I just recommended your services to another author who was looking for some graphics, so hopefully she contacts you eventually. And I have another banner request for you soon :).

I’ll have to sign up for Coyer 2021 soon. Maybe next week if I can remember.

    I hope you’ll have a good week!

    • I really didn’t realize how much work it was not only for them but for the parents too. It’s also a bit expensive.

Most restaurants aren’t open and that is pretty much what we do so it is super slow on our end. I am loving the design work I am doing lately. I also have to finish your tour blog design which I will be starting this week just had to finish all the other stuff I had first.

  7. Iza

I wouldn’t have watched Julie and the Phantoms, but now I feel I have to, lol ! I never thought hairdressing could be so difficult and impressive, yet the coach videos seem to be great ^^ Have a great week 🙂

  8. I haven’t been on Netflix in awhile! I’m on Disney+ more! Lol!

Nice new reads! The Owl Crate book is gorgeous! Though I had guessed what it was ahead of time and didn’t feel like this was a book I’d enjoy…or maybe I would. I was totally hesitant about it, so I skipped the November box. Love those colors though! Happy Reading!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  9. I think I watched a few episodes of Julie and the Phantom but not obsessed over it…lol. I actually forgot all a bout it till you mentioned it. I should go see what I have left of it to watch. I do that with a lot of shows, start and not finish.
Have fun getting Julia reading for Cheer competition, sound a bit insane…lol.

    Have a great week!

    • I really liked it. The music was my favorite part. Those kids can really sing. I can’t wait for season 2…it better have a season 2.
I’ve been trying to binge watch stuff when I am playing games or designing stuff. I have so many things to watch, half the time i don’t know where to start! lol

it is insane and expensive but she loves it and that is what matters most to me.

  10. You’re cracking me up with your Julie and the Phantoms. I promise to try it out sometime! Lol! It does look good.

Was the coach in the video from Julia’s cheer group? I assumed it was just a random video. He was hilarious. Made me want to go get some fake hair and try it lol.

What is this contacts test? Franky never took one and I know I didn’t (I wear contacts when I go to work… So you know, never lol).

    Talk to you today ❤️

    • YOU MUST WATCH IT. My family is making fun of me for watching the songs on youtube but I love them. Those kids are amazing singers.

Yes that was one of her coaches. I can’t wait to watch the make up one he does.

They show her how to put them in. If she can’t she can’t get them and has to go back again but she did so good the kid was impressed so she has to keep doing it for a week if she can take them in and out with no problems they give her the full prescription. Maybe only in NJ? I don’t know
