Week in READview:
I will NOT be making any political statements but if you follow me on twitter you know my view. I will leave it off the blog.
Calliope Update: She is doing much better, while she sometimes still feels warm, she is on medicine and will continue for a month. We had stopped the meds last night because she is getting hostile and I purchased pill pockets to see if that works better for her. If that doesn’t work we go back to the liquid with a smaller syringe. She is still very thin so it will take her some time to get her weight back but I can tell she is getting better, still a little weak but a lot better.

Auggie Update: Yes, I said Update because on Monday, Auggie had me worried and when we went to check his temp it, he spiked a fever of 104 so back to the vet on Tuesday to have him looked it because not only did he have a fever but he was limping pretty hard on his left leg. We think he has an inflammation/infection someplace that is causing the fever. At the moment we are treating him with Pain meds and aspirin for the fever. He will also be getting the same meds as Calliope since they will help his inflammation or infection but his blood work came back good. Now to just get him to feel better and be his big giant goofy self again.

My daughter had her first week back to cheer and it went rather well. No one else tested positive for COVID, thank the gods, so we are back to taking her to practice twice a week. I find it a good chance to catch up on reading and binge watching an episode or two.
I am behind on blog posts this week because of the kittens but with everything sort of under control I can get back to getting some posts done and finishing a bunch of design jobs I have.
The weather was so cold and chilly and now it’s coolish warm. I don’t like coolish warm. I am not even sure coolish warm is a thing but it sucks and I miss the cold/chilly weather.
My TBR List Vote was put up yesterday, if you have a chance to stop by I would love to have you help me pick my November read! You can find the post HERE! November is giving me a Sci-Fi vibe so I have picked three books that I felt had a super sci-fi feel.
What I grabbed:
I was so sad to hear Rachel Caine passed away so I went ahead and purchased her books.

“I’m not even sure coolish warm is a thing.” LOL Well then, let’s make it a thing. A thing we don’t want/need. 🙂
Oh no, I didn’t know Rachel Caine had passed away. I saw a few weeks ago that she was trying to get into a new trial but hadn’t seen an update since then. So heart breaking. 🙁
I’m sorry that Auggie has a fever but I am glad that Calliope is starting to feel better. The weather in Texas has been up and down. We had snow during the beginning of the week and then it was back up to 80 degrees. It was crazy. I was so sad to see Rachel’s passing, I’ve never read any of her books but I do plan to especially The Great Library series, I’ve always loved those covers. I hope you have better week!
Wow, I left a comment here yesterday but it never posted!
Happy to hear your cats are on the mend. Happy reading!
Oh no, I’ll have to check the spam folder, was having an issue but it should be fixed now.
Thank you, they are getting better.
Good luck with the kitties, I hope they’re as good as new soon. It’s hard when they’re suffering like that. And cats can be hard to medicate! Stinkers.
Hope you are well this week!!!
I’m sorry about the kittens. I have read every one of those Rachel Caine books. They are awesome. Enjoy!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you! I am super excited to read all of her book especially the serial killer one. I love serial killers….well not like that but you know lol
Tell your kitties to stop scaring momma and stay healthy! I hope they both are much better this week. Glad no one else got sick at cheer and Julia can go back safely. And yay for more reading time! Hugs!
I have been freaking out the last two weeks about them and now poor poppy is getting all felt up because I want to make sure she doesn’t get anything. His leg really has me worried and if I don’t see that getting better I will be back to the vet on Wednesday.
Glad Calliope is on the mend and hope Auggie soon follows her. Wow, both in one week. Glad your daughter went back to cheer and its going well. Enjoy your Rachel Caine books. Have a good week, Michelle!
Thank you! They are siblings so I guess they like to do things together. lol
I’m so glad your cats are doing better!!!
Thank you!
That’s good news that Calliope is doing better. It can be so difficult to give medicine to pets, I hope the pill pockets you bought work. I am sorry to hear Auggie also is struggling with something now, hopefully he will be doing better. I hope they’ll be back to their usual selves soon. That’s good news no one else tested positive for Covid and that daughter is back to practices now.
Coolish warm is a weird temperature. We had chilly weather with blue skies this week which was lovely. I hope next week is a good one!
The Pill Pockets worked better than I thought they would. The liquid worked with Auggie but I think I am going to try the pill pockets with him too. I just want his fever to go away. He isn’t as hot as Calliope was but still warmer than I would like.
I am glad also that no one else had it and I thought the cheer gym handled it perfectly.
It is a weird temp and it feels weird too. lol, NJ weather is always super weird.
Kitty drama! They like to keep us on our toes, don’t they? Fingers crossed it’s not for too much longer.
I like the sound of Caine’s The Great Library books! The covers are so pretty too.
Have a good week!
They do, I know it will take a couple of days for the fever to go down but the limp is really bothering me I am hoping to see a difference in him this week now that I have medicine for him.
I have been wanting to read that series but now I just felt I need to support her and bought the books.
I’m sorry to see that Auggie has a fever too, but glad that Calliope is better. I’m trying to type with a cat on my left arm, here and now. The weather is also warmish here, it feels like an october day, which is weird even if feeling the sun on my face feels good ! I was sorry to hear about Rachel…
I hope the cats are better soon, have a great week 🙂
Thank you! I have our little one (Poppy) that walks all over the computer when I am working. They have the best personalities.
I like the cool breeze but I am so done with the warm weather.
