Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

BECAUSE READING has a NEW DESIGN! Some of the feature logos will be updated too but for now the overall design is finished! What do you think?

Happy 2019! My doctor told me on Thursday I was a Rhinoceros! Strong, Independent, could kick your ass but then he said No, I had the Rhinovirus and that sort of ruined my dream and made me realize I just have a crappy viral infection that’s extra! Bummer 😉 So this week I have been battling a stupid virus that my husband has and now my son. It sort of put a damper on my plans for the weekend but I was able to rest and I think I needed it. 🙂

I did read two books this week, they go with my Reading Assignment Challenge Goal, It was for Mrs AuthorLuv’s Class and I loved both books I read. I didn’t realize the third book wasn’t out yet but it shouldn’t be long since KN Lee is a writing machine. I can’t seem to keep up with her and she writes some pretty good fantasy books. I switched genres this week because I needed something with action. I was currently reading Scythe but good lord that book is boring. It apparently get’s better but I am not sure I want to stick around to actually find out unless….

I subscribed to audible again. Since we will be driving to Florida in April, I wanted to find something I can read on the way. Since I can’t read in the car, I thought why not listen to some books. I am planning to read the duology Six of Crows, since I had started the first book but with my MOJO all messed up last year, I never finished it. I do want to read it again, since the drive is 18 hours both ways this will be the perfect books to listen too. I also figured while I am designing I like to block out the noise around the house so this might be the perfect way to do it. I have plans for Limabean Designs so I might be working a lot once I get home from work and learning some new things. I have IDEA! I tell you! Lots of IDEA! 🙂 I plan to rebrand it in the next few weeks/month. Exciting things are happening already in 2019 once this Rhino goes away! 😉

You still have plenty of time to sign up for these challenges for the new year!

  1. I love your new design! I hope you are feeling better. Being a rhino definitely sounds like it would’ve been better. I bought Six of Crows when it came out years ago but I have yet to read it. I’m hoping this year will be the year I read it, but I said that last year and well obviously I didn’t read it. The Go Big Or Go Home is definitely my mantra. I love being at home.

  2. I love the new design, Michelle. I hope you are feeling better. I enjoy listening to audiobooks on the road, but don’t do it often. I ended up canceling Audible because I was collecting books and not listening. I may resubscribe if I ever get to all the ones on my TBR pile. Devouring Gray sounds so good. I hope you love it! Have a wonderful week. Happy Reading!

    • Thank you! That was what I was hoping for when I designed it. I prefer clean and easy to read.
The weather wasn’t bad here, not as cold but not warm either. I think the next week the temps are going to go to around normal for this time of year.
Some of them were very good, I enjoyed the ones I read. 🙂

  3. Oh no! I hope that Rhino goes away and you feel better soon. I can’t believe it is 2019 already. I started the year by finishing 3 books. Two were pretty good and the third was just blegh. Oh well I guess I can’t love everything I read.
I love the new look on the blog. The fox and owl are adorbs!

    • Thanks Andrea, I think its going to take it’s time leaving but I am starting to feel better.
I think my plan this year is to try and read some short books in between the big ones to help my reading.
Thank you, I am loving the header. It came out better than I first thought.

  4. I find it so typical that YOU would get the Rhino virus or whatever it’s called. That could only happen to you. Hope you’re feeling better.

Meanwhile, I’m devastated that you find Scythe boring – that might have been my favorite book of 2018. I did listen to it some – I went back and forth between audio and reading because I could not stop reading it. I hope audio works for you.

    Hugs, have a great week!

  5. So, you’re a Rhydon? Awesome! Go take over a gym. LOLOL Seriously though, I hope the Rhino wanders away soon.

Loving the new design! It almost makes me want new designs. Almost. I still love mine too much to change them yet. lol

Hey! Who took a picture of my board and made it a meme? LOLOL I hope you have a great week, Michelle! XOXO

    • I think if I was Rhydon I wouldn’t mind so much. It better wander off soon, I just realized i have a very busy week.
Thank you! We needed something that worked for both of us and I figured the other design still made it mine.
I always choose to go home! 😉

  6. I love the new blog theme. So whimsical!
Yuck on the virus. Being the rhino sounds so much better than having the rhino.
Way to go on your big start for the Reading Assignment challenge. I’m hoping to start my first book this week toward the list and it counts for the genre one, too, though I’m hoping to fit in a second one for that.
LOL, that is funny how you got picked for a book you can’t remember requesting. That’s happened to me a few times.
Feel better and have a great week, Michelle!

    • Whimsical is exactly what I was going for. 🙂 I am loving it.
Having the Rhino is really no fun at all.
I am about to read one more that will go toward the ones books and have to squeeze in a few more. I think I over did it but I need to motivation to get back to reading.

  7. I only got a little ways into Six of crows too. I hope you have a good listen to it on the way down to FL. 🙂

LOL about scythe- I’ve had bloggers tell me to read it it’s GREAT but I don’t know- it LOOS boring? I’m not even motivated to pick it up.

Ooh The Devouring Gray. Been wondering about that one…

    • I think I remember you telling me that. It isn’t a bad book I just think it might be one of those need to listen too books.
At the moment I recommend listening to it and if you don’t do audio, skip it .

I am rather excited about it since it is a book I wanted to read, just wish I would have remembered requesting it lol

  8. OK Michelle you made me laugh today! Sorry you are not a Rhinoceros but only got a rhinovirus LOL And Go Big or Go Home is a mantra that I use often but now I’ll think twice before saying it aloud for fear of people really going home! Have a happy Sunday!

  9. I love your new design and color scheme. It’s so pretty and I like the vibe it has, it fits your blog. With my new design last year it also took me a time to replace all the graphics. I am sorry to hear you had a virus you struggled with this week, I hope you feel better soon!

I hope Audible works for you. I started a subscription on Storytel for audiobooks and I love it! It took me some time to figure out when i can listen and when not, but I hope I can read even more books this year thanks to audio. And some books just seem to work even better in audio. Listening while driving sounds like a good idea, especially with such a long drive.

Sounds like you had a good start with this year’s reading :).

    • Thank you, I love the fresh clean look and I can’t stop looking at it! 🙂
I am hoping it will help me read more also. I can’t listen at work but when I am cooking dinner or working I think it will help.
I am glad that drive isn’t until April it’s going to be a long drive. lol

    • Thanks Lexxie! I can’t stop looking at it. I think it fits us both and is a great way to start the new year and blogging together.
Rhino sucks. Today I am feeling a little better but I have a feeling this is going to take a couple more days to get rid of.
So far in audio it isn’t as bad, think it is a better fit since the text is boring to read.
