Snow, Blogging and Chaos~ WIR & TSP

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

This week has been CRAZY. The storm last Saturday dropped 28.1 inches in my area and that was a bitch to shovel. I am happy to say most of it has melted away but I am praying to the snow gods that they don’t do that again. I usually love snow but the last few winters I realized I might like the cold weather but I might also prefer some warmer weather instead, no hot, just warmer. I am hoping that is the only storm we get but the winter isn’t over.

Let’s do a Ryan Update: As most of you know what my Ryan has been going through, the last few weeks we are seeing a set back with him. His mood has been going back to angry but it’s not as bad as it was last year at this time. We have adjusted his medicine to see if maybe his body is changing a little and the meds just aren’t working like they should. A few times I had to hold him down to prevent him from hurting himself and me but myself and the school are working to get this handled now so we won’t have another trip to the hospital, I just don’t think I can take it again. As he gets older we will have to adjust his medicine but he also needs to learn to control himself when it comes to his temper and how he handles things and that is a little harder to do. I just hope with the help of the school this will just be a phase that will pass quickly. So this week was a little rough with him since he had a meltdown almost every day. I will say however he is still lovable and gives me hugs often so I know that it’s not as bad as it was since last year he didn’t even come by me or want to hug me. So it’s a minor bump in the road but it is a little worrisome.

I believe my blog is finally fixed, this week the hosting company switched our servers again so now it seems that I am back up and running. It has been a really crappy 3 weeks but I can finally start getting back to blogging. I have a bunch of ideas I am working on and have spent this weekend organizing everything I can. I am looking forward to a more productive year. I am counting this month as a trial run of 2016, so Feb 1st is the real start of the new year πŸ˜‰

Books I got this week:

Was a very good girl this week I didn’t get any new books. Nevermind….Friday night Edelweiss posted a bunch of books and a lot of them was book #2…again….so I kind of couldn’t stop myself
I am going to admit that two of the books I grabbed I haven’t read the first book yet however it is on my 2016HW List so if I like it I can always read the next one right away.

  1. I’ll keep Ryan and your family in my prayers, that things smooth out and he finds it easier to deal with his emotions.

And 28 inches of snow – wow! We only got about 18 to 22 here, but I wasn’t home so I didn’t have to shovel. (That would be my husband, poor guy.) I was actually kind of sad to miss it, but relieved that I wasn’t scheduled to fly in or out of the DC area that weekend.

Your new books look good. I checked out the new stuff on Edelweiss, but was relieved to be able to pass on most of it, since I’m cutting back on ARCs. I did get a few good books this week, though!

PS. Sorry this comment is so late in the week. I wrote it on Monday but apparently I didn’t press “Post Comment” and it’s been lurking in my open tabs. Oooops.

    • Lol he’s a rare Dexter cockapoo stuffed puppy. One time he was laying on the bed with a bunch of stuffed animals, I didn’t see him, I thought it was my sons penguin, it moved and I almost had a heart attack but he was all happy to see me lol

  3. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the snow gods smile on you, Michelle. And I’ll keep you, Ryan, and your family in my thoughts. I too hope this is just a little blip in the road and things will get turned around soon. Thank goodness it seems your blog troubles are over. I’m sure that’s a relief. I hope your week is off to a great start!

  4. I’m glad to hear your blog is back in action this week. I hate it when something is not working right with my blog. It always makes me feel weird..
I think it’s amazing how your able to keep seeing the positive about the ups and downs with Ryan. Really impressive.
I hope February starts great for you πŸ˜‰

  5. I saw your pictures on Facebook and that was a lot of snow! Hopefully you guys get a break in the weather so you can thaw out. Sorry to hear about Ryan and I hope a change in medication helps. It’s good to hear you had some good moments mixed in. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a good week!

  6. Sorry to hear about the bad weather, and ups and downs with Ryan. I love your attitude though… knowing the bad comes with the good (and remembering the good).

Am also glad the blog’s finally fixed.

  7. He’s a growing boy so the meds will probably need adjusting on a semi-regular basis. {{{posivibes}}} that he stays on a mostly even keel. And hugs are a good sign! πŸ™‚

You could come live near me. It’s sunny and 66ΒΊ today! lol

Dexter’s like, where you taking my friends?! πŸ˜€

I hope the snow keeps melting and there will be no more storms like that one for you. *pssst NC, just sayin’* Have a great week Michelle! xoxo

    • That is what I am thinking. so it will change a lot in the next few years.

It was 55 today and If I didn’t have to go out I would have been in shorts and a tank top. 66 is like bathing suit weather for me. lol

Dexter got trapped and was so confused, he cracks me up since that look on his face is his drama dog face.

      I’ll start packing soon πŸ˜‰

  8. I like seeing snow, especially when I don’t have to go anywhere and just enjoy it, but the amoutn of snow you got sounds like it’s so much it’s not fun anymore. I am glad to hear most of it has melted by now.
That sounds a bit worrisome how Ryan is doing, but I hope it’s just a minor bump and the medicine adjustment works. And I am glad to see your blog up and running again, I was a bit worried when I couldn’t visit earlier in the week, but that makes sense if they were switching servers. And good luck with cleaning out Julia’s room! I don’t use edelweiss a lot as it’s just so confusing and hey at least that means I only have one place where I get new books, I can’t imagine how many new books I would get else. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • I will be more than happy to ship you some of the snow from my driveway, I have more than enough to share. lol

It might be a minor bump but it does get me worried, I am hoping we can get it under control quickly.

Her room was a pain to clean so much little things it drives me crazy. lol
Edelweiss is DANGEROUS! Just stay away, IT’S LIKE A TRAP!!! πŸ™‚

  9. Sorry to hear about Ryan, glad he is a bit better and hope he continues to get back to your lovable Ryan. πŸ™‚ *hugs* We got one of the same book. πŸ™‚ And Dexter looks so cute in with those stuffed animals! πŸ™‚

Have a great week and happy reading!

    • Thank you, as long as we stay proactive I don’t see him having another hospital visit. His body must be changing for his meds to need adjusting but Ryan is a complex kids he has so many layers you never know what will pop up next.

We always seem to get the same books LOL

Dexter did that to him self. My husband and I were going through her stuffed animals and when we looked up he was all trapped in the corner. He cracks me up because I think he really though he was trapped.

  10. Glad to hear that Ryan is better than he was this time last year, plus there’s nothing like a good hug! What did you think of City of Legends? I have it on my kindle but haven’t read it!

Have a great week Michelle, hope you find some great books to read!

    • Love Ryan hugs, he is a lot better just need to get him more stable.
The first time around reading City of Legends (Powered) I loved it. I just started and it’s a lot different than the first time but I am still liked it a lot and loving her changes. I can’t wait to re-read it again. I am going to review it again but only on the blog..I think

  11. I hope adjusting Ryan’s meds will help, Michelle! Do you have something he can do to redirect his anger? If he’s frustrated about something, maybe either draw something ugly that shows how angry he is, or have a big stuffed animal he can hit instead of trying to hurt himself or others?
I had to laugh at your book-haul – because we all know it’s impossible to resist getting those books when they are offered up. I hope you’ll enjoy them all.
I’m also glad your blog is back up and working as it should, I look forward to hearing about your new ideas.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • We have tried that but it happens without notice and no matter what strategy we try to put in place when he has a behavior (as we call it) it’s like 0 to 60 in a sec. I try to keep my eye on him enough to catch it but it always seems to happen when I am not looking. The school is going to put an aid with him to catch him when he starts to have a breakdown. This will help him maybe learn to make better choices. We don’t think he needs a hospital visit but I might call a home service to come and chat with him to get therapy at home.

Seriously I was doing so good! I thought I am free of books and BAM! Edelweiss, I really just can’t help myself I love older books but the new unread ones are always more exciting. Now I just need to read them all.

  12. I hope things with Ryan will get better. We have our ups and downs so he will have them too. Hopefully adjusting the medication will help with managing the situation though. It takes a lot out of you so I hope you are able to have moments to relax.

I’m so glad we never get that much snow in this part of the world, haha.

  13. Happy new year (Feb. 1st ya know)- just ignore January. LOL. Crappy month anyway. Hope you don’t get dumped on with snow again- 28 inches, good grief. Crazy. I’m with you on the cold, I don’t usually mind ot too much but this year I’m just not feeling it. I want warmer weather. 50’s and higher and I would be happy. πŸ™‚

Good luck with your situation and hopefully it’s a minor speed bump and everything smooths out quick for you. Have a great week!!
