News at Home: Break is over!
Well, as of today, my break is coming to an end π It’s been exactly what I needed – I’ve gotten a lot of rest and I feel really refreshed. That depression that’s been pushing on me since the semester started is basically gone. I’m feeling a little stress today, because I know that school is coming again and I’m anxious about my ability to handle going back into that environment without regressing back into depression and anxiety. I’ve spent a lot of time over break working on my mental and emotional health, though, and I do have a plan. Fingers crossed it works.
Not a lot to report from this week – I spent a lot of time resting and working out and deep cleaning the house. Just getting ready for the rest of the school year basically. I have to do a little bit of actual school work today, but I’m going to keep it pretty limited as part of my goals is to keep out of my home as much as possible. Letting it bleed into my home life isn’t healthy.
We also are going to my brother-in-law’s this afternoon for a Three Kings Party this afternoon. Strangely, despite 13 Christmases together, this is the first time we’re going to a family Three Kings Party – so I don’t know exactly what to expect. But I’m sure there will be good food and drinks π
Blog News
Well, I’m back it seems fingers crossed My plan is to spend a few hours each Sunday blogging – starting with a Sunday post, a few posts for the upcoming week, and then visiting a bit.
COYER is going strong, but I have no idea how I’m doing lol! I need to spend some time organizing my Goodreads shelves to be more useful for me. Maybe I’ll have time today, we’ll see.
Task it Tuesday starts up this week over at Because Challenges. Join us if you have a to-do list to work on (and who doesn’t?) π

Hope your break was wonderful! I know my break is over also. Back to university and life. Shame it ended so soon. Have a wonderful New Year!
Mary
Thank you Mary! I hope your week back has been a good one π
Sounds like it’s been a good break. I hope the transition back to work is a smooth one. I try to always keep work at the office and not let it seep into my homelife but sometimes it’s a challenge. Good luck keeping that balance!
It’s a tricky balance, especially when you just have non-stop work to do. But I’m working on it. I hope you had a great week π
Ahh to bad the break is over. *hugs*
Thanks. It wasn’t too bad of a week back. Being off is better of course lol!
Hopefully your nice break will carry you past back to school nerves. I used to get a bit stressed the night before when going back off a long holiday or the summer break. Looks like you have a nice plan to dedicate a bit of time to several things. Hope the party was fun.
It was a good time, thank you! I always get stressed after a long break. You just never know what you’re going back to. But it wasn’t a bad week π
I am so glad you had a nice break, Berls. I hope this next semester at school goes well for you. It can be so hard when your work environment is so stress inducing. I feel for you and am sending a big hug. It feels like I am coming back to work after a vacation–or something anyway. I didn’t take any time off for the holidays, but this will be the first week we are more or less back to normal. I said goodbye to my mom this morning as she headed home after a three week visit. It’s bittersweet. I hope you have a wonderful week, Berls. Happy Reading!
Thank you, I appreciate it! I hope your first “normal” week went well π
YEA!! So glad to see you back. Good luck back at school and I hope you have a good week.
Thanks Jen! It was mostly good π I hope you had a good week too!
I’m glad your winter break gave you a chance to recharge your spirit! I hope you’re able to keep the depression and anxiety at bay this semester. I’m sending you lots of good vibes and supportive thoughts!
Thank you! The first week went well and I’m trying to stay really committed to myself over work so fingers crossed! I hope you had a great week!
We seriously need to do a goodreads challenge post for Bootcamp. I need to redo mine again, I started last year but my mojo was a no go. I need to get back to organizing it better.
I do most of my blogging on Friday and Sat/Sun. I do most of my visit on Sunday also but I do want to add in another day to visit people. I also unplug at 8pm so it’s harder to get stuff done during the week.
You got this! Don’t worry! If you need me, I am always here! <3 xx
Don’t let things overwhelm you. We’ll still be here when you’re ready. As far as the Goodreads shelves go, ugh. I need to do mine, but I think I’ll break it up into sections and do them a bit at a time. I recommend you do that, too. The way to eat an elephant is a bite at a time. Not that I’d eat an elephant, but you get what I’m saying. lol I hope your week back is smooth and stress-free, Berls! XOXO
I don’t know when my “break” will be over since I’m currently affected by the shutdown. However, I keep waiting for the call that says my break is over. I hope you have a smooth transition back into school and you’re able to keep things on a high note without having the pressure build up.
My break is over today as well and I am already feeling the anxiety creeping in. Hopefully I will handle the stress better than I did last semester (my previous go to method for stress management is food…). Hope you have a good start to 2019!
I do a lot of blog visiting and social media on Sundays too! a surprisingly relaxing way to spend an hour or two on Sunday morning. I always like finding cool new-to-me blogs to visit!
i hope you have a fun time at the Three Kings Party! π
as far as current reads, I jumping all around in the table of contents of the anthology “The Future is Female”, it is 25 science fiction short stories from women authors, from the 1920s to the 1960s. Good stuff!
