Last Day of School and a Light Summer ~ WIR & SP

Posted June 25, 2017 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 10 Comments

This was my daughters last week of school and I have to tell you I am very happy about it. My sons last day is on Monday. We are finished with homework, early mornings and making lunch. YAY! πŸ™‚

So I am officially saying I am in a massive reading slump, to help me get out of this I plan to make the blog a little light over the summer to give myself more time to read. That will, I hope, help me with reviews so that by the time summer is over I will have so many reviews I will be drowning in them. Wish me luck! In reading, not drowning! πŸ˜‰

Otherwise this week was sort of quiet but I did a bit of design work, I also did some blogging stuff, memes, that can be scheduled ahead of time to help me with the slump. I also decided not to grab to many books since for me the worst time to get new books is when I am in a slump, it’s like grocery shopping when you are hungry, half the stuff you get you didn’t really want and probably wont even eat. I am currently reading two really good books so I am hoping they break the slump a little. I think I am in a mood reading kind a mood.

The week of the 4th is going to be super crazy. Since the 4th of July falls on a Tuesday and if you read about my days off last week, you know I obviously don’t have Monday off so I have to go to work. The kids will be at the shore house with my parents and they decided to stay all week. So the week will be my husband and I driving back and forth in the beginning and back down on the Thursday. Good thing is with the kids away, I will have more time to read with no distractions, so I am trying to get all my stuff done so I can take a mini vacation/break from being a parent and the blog and focus on reading. However, come Thursday, I am back in the parent game because I know I will miss them like crazy! πŸ™‚

  1. I always look forward to school being D-O-N-E! No more early mornings…I love it! Time to enjoy your summer and get lots of reading in πŸ™‚

  2. It’s good your kids are finally out of school. Now you get a break from their homework lol. I’ve been also in a reading slump. I think I need a break from adult contemporary romances but I have to read them for a tour. Once this last book is done I’m diving into a cozy mystery or fantasy lol. Hopefully that will help my slump. I hope you have a great week!

  3. Yay to school being out! I don’t get nearly as much done during the summer but I do love not having to wake up early and make lunch and all that. The pace is much slower this time of year! Good luck with your reading slump! Hopefully it will go back where it came from and stay away. I need to go back and read the 2nd Serafina. I didn’t love the 1st book but it’s really stuck with me which is a sign that I enjoyed it more than I thought I did. I think my main problem was I listened to the audio and while I love the narrator I don’t think that book in that format worked for me. Have a great week!

  4. As usual, your currently reading shelf is just pure eye candy πŸ™‚ and good luck at the reading goals! I know what you mean. I’ve actually read those books, but I have like so many reviews to write and I just don’t want to get to that xD
