Blogging, Bookish and Real Life News:
See Ya Later 2018!
I am so ready for a new year, I promised myself I wouldn’t waste this one. The year of good books, blogging, design, family, friends and video games. I am going to focus on all the things I love and just be.
Christmas Eve was at my moms house with my moms family. It’s aways fun, we do a grab bag and I got a cute decoration for the house plus some money. My husband grabbed an amazon gift card for me but someone stole it back. I love when we do that, it’s so much fun. My son was having a hard time falling asleep, he was excited for Santa to come, remember he doesn’t believe, so my husband and I were so confused. By 3am I finally told him to come sleep in bed with me and of course he passed right out. Wish I would have done that sooner. My husband snores, so on the weekends he sleeps on the couch so I can get a good night sleep. My son was very excited about his new gaming computer and my daughter was so surprised by her new phone. It was a successful Christmas Morning. Oh and the kittens enjoyed their first Christmas and got lots of new toys. Christmas dinner was at our house with my parents and sister. We had a really nice day. I got lots of good stuff and over all just a great day. I was however exhausted since I only had 4 hours of sleep so I passed out rather early.
This week I had off and did just enough stuff but also was able to relax, organize and refresh. I took all the decorations down on Friday since it was causing my son a little anxiety. I miss the tree but it’s nice to have the house back to normal, I was able to give it a nice cleaning.
I did a bit of blogging and will continue today with all the stuff that needs to be finished before Wednesday. I have to work on Monday but plan to take a half day and I’m off on Tuesday. I want to focus on blogging stuff this week and get back to my routine next week. It feels good to be a little ahead, I also want to organize the challenge I am planning to do better because I found a way to be able to read a few books a month that will count for some of the challenge I have. I really do think the challenges I joined has given me such a great push to want to read again. I am also really excited about setting my new Goodreads Goal on Tuesday! 🙂
P.S. I am hoping by next weeks Sunday Post we will have the new header and colors on the blog. I can’t wait to share the design with you! 🙂
You still have plenty of time to sign up for these challenge for the new year!
2019 Reading Assignment, if you joined last year it was basically you list the books you want to read and read them each month. That was a fun challenge but a lot of people are mood readers so instead, he hired 3 teachers and they set up class. So Spring Semester is now taking class registration. You can sign up for one class or all 3. Our Author Love challenge is now part of the reading assignment.
A Year in Anthologies I had a conversation a few months ago about not getting to Anthologies and then I had a great idea. Why not make it a challenge to read as many anthologies as you can, the bigger the better. You can pick one or a few as long as you read the entire thing by the end of the year…also the more pages the more points you get in the giveaway.
2019 Bookish Resolutions I used to host this with another blogger but she’s now a pretty popular author so Berls agreed to help me out, so basically you just make your list of resolutions and if you can complete them by the end of the year you get a point in the giveaway but wait there is more….We also are linking this challenge with our BRAND NEW! Bookish Bootcamp that will be similar to Bloggiesta and also Task it Tuesday will be back starting in Jan. You can find all the details on the sign up.
I hope you all have a Safe and Happy NEW YEAR!

Totally Random:
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

Glad to hear you had a lovely Christmas! Hope you rang in the new year safely!! 🙂
(I also bought Daughter of the Pirate King & Daughter of the Siren Queen during the Boxing Day sale @ Bookoutlet! Can’t wait to read them!)
Glad you had a lovely Christmas! Hope you had a happy new year.
This is our year, Michelle! I know we said that last year and we all know how that turned out, so this year will be it. Or else.
I also got the decorations put away. I miss the lights, but really like having the house back to normal.
I’m looking forward to seeing your new graphics! *bounces in seat* I cant’ wait!
I hope you have a terrific week, Michelle! XOXO
Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas, even the kitten! Yay! 🙂
Sounds like you had a pretty awesome Christmas! And as much as I love the holidays it’s always kinda nice to to get back to normal when they’re done. I’m kinda ready. 🙂
That Totally Random is hilarious- and so true!!
Happy New Year!
Glad you had a nice Christmas! My husband snores too, but thankfully, once my hearing aids are out, I hardly hear it! Have a great week!
I have wanted ear plugs but I am scared the kids will need me and I wont hear them. He sleeps so soundly he doesn’t hear anything. The couch is perfect, just me and the dog and sometimes the dogs snores too! 🙂
Well Michelle I feel you! Mu hubs snores a lot! I usually end up my night sleeping on the couch. If he does not wake me up too close to my wake time… That’s why I fell asleep at 11:30 PM on Christmas! 😉 Happy Sunday and happy New Year!
I tell him I sleep on the couch because I am worried I would smother him with a pillow, so technically I am saving his life. lol I am usually ok if I fall asleep before him but that never happens. 🙂
I love your totally random picture. Very cute. I had a good holiday. I hope you have a great New Year!
Mary
Thanks Mary!
That sounds great other than kiddo being too excited to sleep so you lost some, too. 🙂 We did my husband’s family Christmas on Christmas Eve and Skyped with mine Christmas afternoon.
Yay for time to putter around the house to put away and clean, but also get organized for blog and challenge stuff, too.
I like your goal of enjoying the aspects of your life more. Happy New Year’s, Michelle!
He tends to get over excited but we worked it out. I just wish I would have thought to have him sleep with me earlier lol.
It was so nice to not have to do anything and get a bit organized. I am looking forward to the new year and hope I can enjoy it more. I feel like I wasted a year on anxiety and stress.
I’m so glad you had a lovely holiday and are feeling refreshed. My daughter got a cold so she hasn’t even opened her presents! I’ve been working on various things, finishing things up for the New Year. I had to do my own version of Top 10 since the meme I followed didn’t do it this year. So next year I’m doing it and I’ll need you to design a graphic since I suck. I did my own nothing this year since it was just me but since I’m going to invite others next year I need a nice graphic. I’ll email you next fall.
I hope you like Scythe – I loved it. Happy New Year! Have the best one.
I will be happy to make the graphic for you. Just let me know when you are ready 🙂
I hope she is feeling better, we all have a bit of a cold right now. I think the unwind made whatever is going around catch up to me. Might hit the doctor tomorrow if I still don’t feel well.
I am enjoying it so far when I have time to read. 🙂
I love wrapping things up for the year and diving into a fresh new year! <3 Happy New Year to you as well!
It really is a great feeling! 🙂
