Week in READview:

I’m skipping the politics, we all know what is going on and I want to keep my posts happy. You wouldn’t like my thoughts anyway.

I have been taking advantage of my Netflix, Hulu, shudder and HBO Max subscriptions the last few weeks. I seem to be addicted to documentaries and scary movies. Last week I watch Challenger: The Final Flight, it was so good and completely heartbreaking. I still was all shocked when it blew up, I think it was so interesting to see why it has blown up since I didn’t even know half of what they said since I was younger. Funny Story….My dad found a piece of the insulation from the challenger. In April we had gone to our condo in Florida and my dad and his friends saw something in the water. They ran down to the ocean and found this grey hard piece, they took it over to Cape Canaveral to have it looked at and they confirmed it was a piece of the shuttle. They asked my dad if he wanted to give it to them and my dad said no, he wanted to keep it, lol. We had it in the basement forever but it smelled so bad from being in the water. I want to say my mom still has it but it might have been thrown away because it really did smell.

This week kicked off our Spooktacular Posts and we also did a Spooky Saturday Post. I love spooky posts, they are so fun. We have a lot more planned for next week. I am also trying to find places to fit in the last two books I read since they are perfect for October. Like who are we right now and all these posts!

My TBR List this month is all about 80s horror so if you get a chance stop by and give a vote on what spooky book i should read this month, I would totally appreciate it.

The weather at the beginning of the week was super hot by at the end it was perfect. Windows open, gorgeous cool breeze and just heaven. I love that the weather is finally getting cooler and I am looking forward to the change in time. Yes, I am that person, I do like when it gets dark early.

Made a big pot of Macaroni Gravy(Red Sauce) this weekend. It has been since forever since I was able to make it since I was limited with items I can great at the store so it will be nice to have an Italian Sunday Macaroni Dinner for the first time since January.

On Monday my husband and I will celebrate our 18th Wedding Anniversary and by celebrate I mean he is taking our daughter to cheer practice and I will be home with our son getting a quick dinner ready for when they come home at 8pm. I guess this is what it means to be married for 18 years. lol he’s a good guy, he allows me to get lots of animals and listens to all my crazy ideas. 🙂

  1. I am not generally a documentary person, but there are a few on Netflix I have been wanting to watch. I really appreciate Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ right now very much. What a great story about your dad and a piece of the Challenger! I remember watching the explosion in school. A television set had been brought into our classroom just so we could watch the lift off. What a terrible moment in history that turned out to be.

Your weather sounds divine! It’s still too hot here, unfortunately. I hope we start seeing some cooler weather soon. What we really need is rain. Especially in the northern part of the state to help with the fires.

I hope you enjoy your new books! Both of your Amazon First picks are tempting me. I haven’t chosen mine yet.

Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a great week, Michelle!

  2. Happy anniversary! Hope you guys have a great one. 🙂 I love spooky month too so I’m looking forward to all kinds of spookiness in October. And of course the cooling off doesn’t hurt either!

I kinda want to watch Lovecraft County.

  3. For whatever reason, I don’t watch tv. I read. I look at Twitter and fb too much this year. But even though we have some of those online like Netflix and Prime, I so rarely use them. When I do want to see something it isn’t on the one I have. lol I want to make chili this week which will be akin to your cooking today. I don’t really read much horror . The First reads you picked are ones I am considering. I always wait until the middle of the month to see what others have picked and to see more reviews.

  4. Happy 18th anniversary! We “celebrated” 15 years in April… I can’t remember that we did anything. Maybe cards? 😂 But what you have is better than fancy dinners!

I actually enjoy fall too. It’s winter I hate. This year I feel like it will super suck because of covid. Blah.

Enjoy your pasta and “gravy”! Hugs!

  5. Happy anniversary! I hope you find a way to celebrate at least a little. A bottle of champagne and some chocolate-dipped strawberries, perhaps? I know it’s hard to figure out how to celebrate this year. We had hoped to do a special trip for ours this year (it’s one of those milestone ones), but obviously that went out the window. Maybe in a year or two it will be safe to travel again.
