Real Life  News:

Ok so let me tell you what has been happening.. Here is my post about it from FB (names removed) it basically give a short version of the story up until this week….

“I told one of my daughters classmates to not sit in the middle of the street because, ya know, I didn’t want her to get killed! I also sent an email to the principal explaining that this isn’t the first time she has done this and feel like something needs to be said or she needs to be talked to about it, I didn’t feel like it was my place but I did tell the girl I would tell her mom. Now I know this girl will say something to my daughter and today she did. She told my daughter “your mom yelled at me for being in the street”. My daughter said “Well she didn’t want you to die” The girl said “Well she was going to tell my mom, and she should mind her business” Wait until the girl finds out I sent an email. I also have no issue talking with her and her parents if she continues to “talk” to my daughter.”

Ok so with that being said, this was about 3 weeks ago. She has said something to my daughter about me every day, however, last week the girl and a few other kids in school got in a LOT of trouble because they used the school laptops inappropriately. So she and a few others were suspended. So the girl comes back to school this week and guess what…she is still saying stuff to my daughter about me. Last night I had it and my daughter being a quiet and way too nice for her own good kind of person, would never say anything. So I informed the school once again because you know what, I don’t want this to go any farther then it is. I don’t want this girl to get even more mean and have something happen or before it’s too late. Let me say that, this girl, I have known for a while, she was a really sweet girl but something is going on that is causing her to seek negative attention and be the BULLY of the school. It’s almost like she is loving the power she feels like she has over people. I am 44, I don’t really care what an 11 year old has to say about me but I know it will bother my daughter. She has handled it very nicely so far with just ignoring her but before my kid snaps, let me get a handle on this. So far the teacher, principal and a few others know what is going on and I will inform them of anything else my daughter might say. I am doing this for the sake of both girls because as much as this girl is being a jerk, something is going on and I think she needs help. I am hoping this will be handled without my daughter having anymore of the fall out.

Sorry I tried to save your life kid, I just didn’t want you to die!

That was pretty much the drama of the week. We are in the process of changing over my sons meds too. This is why I have been a little MIA this week. My son has been having some anxiety and outbursts lately, we think the one medicine he is on isn’t really working as much anymore so we are going to switch him. We had an incident this week that I had to get between him and my husband because he wasn’t listening to his dad. They both have quick tempers and I needed to get in between but I am always the one my son will lash out at which upsets his dad but I was able to smooth it over and the two made up with my son understand that his actions are not acceptable in this house. So I am hoping the medicine change will be good.

What I am watching:

I was able to finish bones but haven’t had time to start anything new but since this is a WWE PPV weekend I have been catching up on episodes of NXT that I might have missed because they are also having a PPV this weekend.

Blogging and reading:

I have a very laid back weekend with the 24 in 48, I casually read through out the day and still got stuff done that needed to get done. It actually makes me wonder why I don’t do this every weekend when I can. I am hoping to read some more today but I will see what happens. I am finished with all the post for this week so anything I do today will be for the next two weeks, which is a plus so I have time to get post finish if I don’t get to them today.

Reading has been going pretty good. I finished Lifel1k3 this week and OMG, I can’t even explain how much I loved this book and how much it destroyed me at the end. I am praying the next one will be out in May, I need to find out what happens next. Have you read it? I am still so blown by how it ended.

I might…MIGHT have gotten a lot of books this week. In my defense…I don’t have one, I just love books and really can’t help myself. I ALMOST walked out of Barnes and Noble without getting any books, until I strolled into the Fantasy section and realized The Gutter Prayer was released, snatched that baby up and checked out. That is going to be one of my Florida reads, if I can wait that long.

Last Week on the Blog:

  1. It sounds like you had quite a week. It is too bad that young lady does not realize that you were trying to help her and she leaves your daughter alone. Hopefully the principal will help. Glad with all that going on and dealing with your sons new meds, you still had some time to relax. Hope this week is better for you.

  2. I am sorry to hear about that girl talking to your daughter because you said something to her. I think you did the right thing to look out for her and I am sorry she now is being annoying to your daughter because of it.

I hope your sons new meds are working for him.

That sounds nice how you got some relaxing reading done this weekend. I hope you can do that more often.

Your book haul looks great, I hope they’re all good ones. Have a great week and happy reading!

  3. Oh no, you had a stressful week. I hope this week is a lot calmer. I definitely agree that there is something going on with that girl and I hope you bringing up to others can get her some help. Your daughter sounds like my daughter, my friend’s son always has to defend her because my daughter is just so nice, she won’t defend herself. I also hope the meds work for your son. I hope this week is a lot less stressful for you!

  4. Haha I don’t think I can go into Barnes and Noble and not get something, so you’re not alone. There’s just too much temptation. And the kid thing- yeah sounds like she’s got some stuff going on. I hope they get it all cleared out and your daughter doesn’t have to put up with anymore crap. That kinda thing is such a pain.

The Gutter Prayer looks totally awesome by the way. I love books with gritty fantasy cities.

    Have a great week Michelle!

  5. It does sound like that girl is having some problems if she wasn’t always a bully like that. Hope you get that fixed soon. Also hope changing Ryan’s meds helps him! You got some cool books and I heard that Jay Kristoff seems to like to kill you on the inside with cliffhangers! I am really curious about that book but not sure if it would be my type but I did say this year I wanted to try genres I don’t normally read. 🙂

Hope this week is a good one!

    • Honestly don’t read many books that are similar to LifeL1k3 I actually thought I wasn’t going to like it but holy cow! I am floored. You should totally give it a go, you never know. 🙂

Meds we need about a week and I hope the girl is done bothering with my daughter since Friday she didn’t say anything at all to her.

  6. Your point about every weekend is exactly it. I try to fit in reading whenever I can. I did a bit more yesterday. Today I didn’t manage so much as I went to the Y to do the water class and swim laps.

We had several rounds of meds for anxiety until we found ones which work for her. Now we also have meds for muscle spasms and pain. It’s a process to get it all figured out. I hope this week goes well for you!

  7. It does sound like the girl has something going on since her behavior has changed for the worse. I hope someone helps her and she leaves your daughter alone. My son was bullied but he had two good friends who helped him. I had no idea until he told me years later. You sure did get some awesome books. Several are on my shopping list. And this is the second time I’ve come across The Night Owl book. Starting to get very curious about it.

  8. I hope that girl gets the help she needs. Something is definitely going on if her behavior has changed so radically.

I need a good read. Most of what I’ve read so far this year has been meh. My ratio needs to go up. I want more great reads. lol

I saw that same random on Facebook and almost used it on today’s post. LOLOL

I hope you have a fantastic non-lethal-weapon-nipples week, Michelle! XOXO

  9. Oooh, I saw The storm Keepers Island when I was out book buying with the little dude! Looked like a good one. He opted to buy book one is a series of books written by Bear Grylls though… Gold of the Gods or something like that. *shrugs* 🙁

I hope things resolve with the bully girl and your daughter. It sucks that she feels like she needs to lash out and be so nasty but your daughter not responding in kind is a credit to you.

    • My kids never want to read anything I think is cool either lol

I always tell her to be kind to everyone, even if they don’t like you. She is a sweetheart but I do want her to stand up for herself once in a while just to show people she isn’t so easy to push around even if she is a sweet/nice girl . And Thank you! 🙂

  10. Oh my heart hurts for you about the situation with your daughter. We had a bullying situation with my son last year and I was seriously considering pulling him out of school and home schooling him. It ended up working out but I was a mess about it – more than he was I think. I hope the situation resolves nicely and I’m impressed that your daughter is handling it well. I agree that it definitely sounds like something is up with the other girl. Just the sitting in the street seems like a cry for attention. Hope this week is better for you!

    • My daughter is tough but her mom is a lot tougher. I make sure to cause a stink if I need too, I also have no issue resolving this with her parents. I feel bad for the kid and think she needs helps. The sitting in the street made me so nervous, like anything could have happened. My stomach hurts just thinking about it.
I am hoping it is resolved quickly since on Friday was the first time the girl didn’t mention me.

  11. That is really something. I agree with you about that girl having a whole lot going on that is not out in the open. Your daughter is a treasure to not respond in kind, but still be protective of you. An acquaintance of mine went through the frustration of finding the right meds and dosage with her son, too. It’s so hard.

Glad you loved the Kristoff book. I want to read that so much. Not my turn on the library waiting list yet. 🙂
Yay for a stack of vacation reading for you.

Have a good week, Michelle. Way to go getting a little ahead on your posts and doing great with the RAT.

    • I feel bad for the girl but I also feel bad that she needs to pick on other kids to make herself feel better.
SO far the meds seem to be working but we still need to see what happens after a week.

It’s weird to be ahead but my schedule seems to be working for now and that is a huge plus! 🙂
