It was a very rough week ~ WIR & TSP 11-15-14

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

So this was a rough week for my little guy. Lots of set backs and issues at school. We aren’t sure what is going on with him but it seems to be getting worse. It breaks my heart to see him having so many difficulties but like always we are doing our best to help him work through it. With the new meds he will be on we are hoping that they will ease a little of his impulses but this was a rough week for this momma and I know it wasn’t easy on him either.

I had a doctors appoint on Friday about my stupid finger. The good news is it’s all healed up but the finger is still swollen and it has a bit of scar tissue built up in the joint so I need Occupational Therapy on the finger to get it to go back to normal. It still hurts and it is still very swollen but I am happy that it is some what healed just need to take the steps to make it 100%

So I have a few Challenges and Read a Thons going on this month and I figured I would give an update.

I did AWFUL on the Ho Ho Ho Read-a-thon I am very angry with myself since it’s Christmas reads damn it how could I only read one. I pretty much finished the book at 11:50 the last night as much as it counts and it was super cute it wasn’t what I had hoped I could accomplish.

The Blog Ahead Challenge has been going not very far but it has been going lol. I did about 7 scheduled posts and 2 set up posts and I am hoping that the momentum I felt today and ideas that I had will help me in the next couple of weeks have at least 15 posts ahead if not more.

Are you guys reads for the next Challenge? An update that you might have seen on Saturday? A Sign Up post maybe?

WinterCoyerThat’s Right COYER is back and this time around I plan to kick book booty. I have a few books that I am making sure I will be reading this time around and will have a start up post soon…once I figure out what books those will be ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are 4 words both Berls and I cringe when either of us say it “I have an idea” It usually means we will be doing something crazy with tons of typing and I will have to make a logo. Last year I did a year in review and this year I was trying to figure out how to do it and fit everything in one post. I have so many exciting things to share for next year and so much that has happened this year but don’t worry somehow she knew and I got the text “I have an idea” and I will tell you what it is soon (once we figure out all the details). Maybe you will want to join us when we do it. It’s a great way to end out 2014 and start 2015.

Wow that was a lot. I have a few other things but I will save it for next time.

Oh and Something I can’t leave out, I was having some serious issues with the blog at the beginning of the week and I wasn’t able to comment on anyone that posted a comment on one of my posts, I was NOT ignoring you for some reason it was not letting me comment. I think it is fixed now (fingers crossed). Also sorry I haven’t been commenting on all of your blogs, I have been doing a lot of visiting but you probably don’t even know I am there, I am trying very hard to get into the habit of sharing your post when I am finished visiting. So if you see shares from me you will know why ๐Ÿ™‚

This Week on the Blog:

It’s a very light week unless I squeeze something in. I am trying to end the year with a bunch of reviews so not many, if any, will be in the month of November. Plus with everything going on in my house at the moment I think it’s best to keep things light just in case I have to disappear for a few days.

  1. I hope this week goes better for you and your son. It’s frustrating when you have things you want to do but life gets in the way. But at least you were able to finish the book for the read-a-thon. I’ve said this before but I can’t wait for COYER!! You and Berls have done a great job and it’s really a lot of fun hanging out with other book lovers. Have a great week =)

  2. Ugh, that *does* sound like a rough week! I hope OT goes okay, it can be difficult, but not so bad as physical therapy.. depending on why you’re there. Sorry to hear about school difficulties, he is in my thoughts! hope Get Even turns out to be a delightful read.

  3. The woman who was a Christmas Elf in another life only read 1 Christmas book??? I’m shocked. LOL Just kidding, sometimes life just gets in the way of reading doesn’t it?
Hope your son is doing better, as well as your finger and that you have a great week Michelle. *hugs*

  4. Bea

I’m looking forward to COYER; my ebooks have piled up again. I’m sorry things aren’t going well for your son at school at but it sounds as if you’re staying on top of things and that’s good. And yay for your finger being healed. Some OT and it’ll be good as new. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope this week is better!

  5. Oh, I hope everything sorts itself out soon. My children are all grown up – my son is six and half feet tall but you still worry about them the same as you did when they were little. I’m looking forward to being a guest but if there’s anything I help with in the meantime please let me know. My Kindle is bursting at the seams but I’m hoping to have a few weeks in January to read through the wonderful books I have amassed this year. Take care ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. So sorry to hear about the school troubles and finger troubles. I know both must be so frustrating. I always hate when I can get back to 100% immediately (patience is NOT my middle name) and it’s so frustrating when something’s going on with one of the kids that I can’t just fix. You might not be as far ahead as you’d like but it sounds like you’re making good progress! I always look forward to seeing what you and Berls come up with and your banners are awesome. Have a great week!

    • Thank you!
As a parent watching your kid struggle with issues you can’t control is very hard but we all work together and make the best at trying to keep him happy and balanced.

    • Yes my site doesn’t like URL and we can’t figure out why but I know who you are…your link comes up below your name because of comment luv plugin ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I actually like the idea we came up with and I think it would be fun for others to join in as well but it wont be anything that has to be signed up just something to close out the year ๐Ÿ™‚

It has been taking forever to heal and it is healed now I just need to get the swelling down and be able to bend it. It’s rather annoying lol

  8. Good luck with your son and what he’s going through, school can be tough under the best of circumstances and when something is going on it can be hard for the kids and the parents. I hope it improves soon! Nice to see COYER back I think I’ll be signing up for that. And your and berls’ new idea- looking forward to it, it’ll be fun to see what you guys come up with. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I hope the new medicines help your son, it sounds like he’s going through a hard time and that must be difficult for you as well.
Glad to hear your finger has healed, I hope the therapy helpd getting it back to normal again.

And yay for Coyer, I alreayd added the button for Coyer to my sidebar and made my sign-up post. It’s going to be fun!
I am curious what you have planned for the end of this year. I always do a list of my 5 star reads of the year on the last day of the year, but beside that I have almost nothing planned for end December, so who knows maybe I’ll join.

That issue with your blog sounds weird, never heard of that one before. I am glad you got it solved though. I always try to comment when I visit a blog, but sometimes I read the post, don’t know what to say and leave again. I think sharing the post is a great way to show them you was at their blog. I really want get into the habit of sharing other people their posts more often.

    • I am still having the comment issue and I can do it on my wordpress app but on the blog it’s a very slow load and sometimes get an error, or at least I was.

I am so excited for COYER I am so glad you are joining us again!! This time even thought the rules are stricter I think it will be a lot of fun.

He usually has some difficulties around the holidays because of all the excitement and leaving the house and visiting but this time he seems really out of sorts. So I am hopeful we got the right meds now.
