out with the OLD: 2017

The year of the never ending slump from hell….That is what I am calling this year. Reading? I’m sorry I can’t do that because my head is stupid and it wont focus long enough for me to read an actual book. I miss reading, I also realized this year I am not that much of a fan of ARCs anymore. Don’t get me wrong I love getting them but I hate the pressure of having to read them at a certain time. I miss the days of just reading to read and doing a fun simple review.

Challenges? I sucked at them all! I failed every single challenge I had this year. FAILED even my own!

I am making some major changes next year. It will be a different reading and challenge type of year then maybe in 2019, I can get back to doing what I used to do but this next year I need a break. Lets get to 2018…shall we….

in with the NEW: 2018

With the slump from hell still looming. I have decided that this next year will be a read whatever the hell I want, when ever the hell I want. I love getting ARCs and I will still grab them up but not as often. Unless it’s a book I really want, I will wait until it comes out. ARCs are so awesome to have but the pressure of getting them and reading them on time with my schedule is a big NO. I just can’t right now and I want to take a break from schedule reading. Yes, I have a few challenges that rely on schedule reading but that is ok since they are books I already have an want to read. I plan to take advantage of KU, freebies and books that are already out. I love getting new books and I will grab them but when they come out. Maybe 2019 I can go back to getting ARCs on Netgalley and Edelweiss but as of right now, I just want to read like I did before the blog. I do love reviews so I will totally still be doing that but now it will be books that have been out and not rushing to get a book read and making sure I don’t spoil too much. I will still promote the heck out of new books and maybe at some point during the year I will go back to grabbing especially if it’s something I really want. I just want to try and have a more relaxed year. I think I need it.

With that all being said lets get to challenges….I will be doing the Goodreads challenge and all the challenges I cohost…that is it. I will NOT be doing any other challenges this year. I am sticking to mine, since I cohost them and that will be all. I am serious when I say I want to make changes this year and try to make things a lot lighter so I don’t feel so much stress. This is the only way I will kick this depression and get back to being a normal human again! 🙂

  1. I’m really bad about getting reviews written and published before release dates. I have such good intentions…and such a big backlog. I’m trying to work concurrently on my new reads while also working backward.
